Marshall grow stack!

i converted my shitty MG cabinet into a full fledged grow box. the only thing i didnt include was intake/exhaust fans.

now im about 11 days in and i have a question. im using 2 refector hood, as thats all that could fit. i bought 2 little Y adaptors that allow you to put two light bulbs in each reflector. now obviously they didnt fit with the light bulbs but luckily i had an extention piece that allowed the adaptor to be screwed in. unfortunatly i only had 1.

so now im running 3 cfls. 2 23w and 1 20w making 66w.

one of my girls seems to be doing fine but the other is starting to droop a bit and hasent grown at the same rate. theyre obviously different strains (bagseeds) but im a little concerned about how much light is in there.

all the cfls are 2700k and im not too sure 66w is enough for both girls. the one under the single cfl is doing fine but the one underneath the Y adaptor with 2 cfls has drooped and not grown nearly as much.

is 66w of 2700k cfls enough to do the job? theyre in 32oz containerswith drainage holes cut in the bottoms. im not looking to go big obviously.

so my question is; is 66w of 2700k enough to get the job done? and how big should they get in the 32oz containers? im thinking of throwing a screen in there between the medium and lighting to do a scrog if it dosent look like ill have enough room?

should i add another light? i can put a socket and bulb with no reflector in there no problem. i could even get a few "worklight" flourescent tubes as they are small and i can attach them to the sides of the cab to provide some horizontal light.

thank you so so much if you read all of this hahaha.

some of thesse pictures are older than the others. i will update will recent pics tn or tomorrow.

thanks guys!2011-08-24_15-59-57_460.jpg2011-09-04_19-37-11_424.jpg2011-09-06_15-53-33_916.jpg2011-09-06_15-53-28_51.jpg2011-08-24_15-32-12_0.jpg

its the lowest quality cab they make hahaha, the speakers are absolute shite. the MG series as a whole suckss lol. this cab was worth probably $100? if even that.

its nothing compared to my jcm and 1960 lead B cabs ;]

so i wouldve been able to sell it to a music store for about $100. now when im done with it i can sell it to another aspiring gardener for like 2-300 depending on who it is haha. aaaand by the time im done, hopefully ill get about a grand worth of smoke out of it too :D

yeah i can def fit more, but its gettin tight. i can probs squeeze about two more in there. i was thinking of replacingthe 20w with a 43w and maybe adding another 43w

just wanted to know if this was something i needed to do right away or not

didn't see the last post was 20 days ago! haha.. your far past the transplant stage by now

you need to move your lights closer as I see your seedling is stretching.. look at the cotyledons and how far up on the stem they are.. they should be right at soil level.. when you transplant, bury the seedling up to just right under the cotyledon and get those lights close and that should fix your problem..

66 watts is not really enough.. 100 watts of light is recommended for 1 plant.. i currently have 126 watts, 1 plant, and scrogged running in a speakerbox and keeping temps at 76F to 78F.. 2400k lights are ok and will work but for veg you want blue spectrum not red.. 6500k would be best for veg but during flower, switch to 2400k.. with only 60 watts of light tho, i don't think its going to make a difference in bud quality/yield..

Thats absolutely the best use of a MG amp Ive ever seen.... Keep em tiny maybe a small scrog will work out nice :)

Hey man. Itd be interesting to see where your plants are at now! Got any recent photos? So the floor space essentially is 26" x 14" yeah? So well call that 2sq foot. If your gonna maximise the space your going to want atleast 50watts per square foot, so id really recommend goin out and getting those 2 43watters, and sitting em like 3-4 inches from the plant. Can you plug them babies in at the same time as a 23w globe as well or are they too big?

i had the two i started with die on me because of heat/vent issues. now the cab is slightly redesigned with computer fans for exhaust and a few other fans as well. im also keeping the closet door their in open now and you couldnt even tell whats going on!

i have 3 now, all different types, they all look slightly differnt. im about 2 weeks in and theyre looking sooooo much better, less stretching, less cupping/burning. temps are at a steady 90 now. now that falls comming around my room is colder, im seeing 85 more consistantly and it will get lower as winter approaches.

i relise my conditions are not optimal but they are enough to keep them growing for now. im aware 90 is very high and am working on a small a/c unit.

i had my other one die at the two week mark, these look bigger and heathier then the other one did at this point.

ive heard adding co2 would help them cope with heat, is this true? i have a million co2 canisters for the handgun bb guns and two paintball gun tanks, any idea how i could effciently use them?

also, i have 4 lights, 2700k. 2 23ws. and two 20s all very close to the plants. i think adding a 43w would bring my temps right back to the danger zone
