Marijuana use and child conception

The wife and I are trying to conceive and she is flipping out about me smoking, even though it's been part of the deal since the day we met. Now she is getting all upset because she hasn't conceived yet and is attempting to control me and my behavior. I am on board with increasing my overall health to improve our chances, but I dislike being controlled. I have a feeling that if I give in even slightly it will be a slippery slope and she will try to push marijuana out of my life completely. It starts with just a temporary ban, but it will get longer and longer until she is no longer cool with it at all.

What's the deal with marijuana and conception? I know a lot of people that smoke that seemed able to conceive. A quick search of the internet yields plenty of articles condemning it and quoting studies that it decreases sperm count etc, but none of them link to the actual studies. Anyone have any input?

It just seems like something to pick on thats visible whereas there could be 100s of other reasons why youre not concieving.
If anything taking something so precious away from you could be detrimental and further hinder your attempt at procriation. Dont let yourself be controlled youre born kinda free in this world keep as many freedoms as you can while you can.
Pretty sure adam and eve would be caning and shagging too.

She was checking her ovulation with a test kit, but has since stopped. I have been pushing for an "every day, just in case" policy since before we started. Currently we are on the every day plan so there is no real need to waste the money on the ovulation test kit.

We are both over weight, but her more than me. We have both been taking steps to increase our health and our chances. I have reduced alcohol consumption, nearly eliminated soda consumption, I commute 12 miles round trip by bike to work, we have nearly eliminated fast food and restaurant food, and have been making strides to lead a more active lifestyle (including canceling our cable and trying to do more outside activities, especially since it's summer).

I have no problem making sacrifices to improve our chances, but I feel like she is being unreasonable. She hears things from her friends, or reads things, and gets ideas in her head of what is good and what is bad without ever doing her own research for reliable sources. Previously it was gluten, because gluten is the devil and no one should ever eat it because it has caused all of the worlds stomach problems, along with every other health problem, and also would secretly slash your tires and hide your car keys. She heard it from hundreds of people, and plenty of websites demonized gluten. But when I researched it I can'y find a single legitimate reason to avoid gluten unless you have celiacs disease and have an immune reaction to gluten. Now it is marijuana and how it gives you low sperm count, low sperm motility, and destroys the DNA in the sperm rendering them useless even if you do manage to muster a few of them with enough motility to get to the egg. I haven't seen any studies to indicate anything either way - I was hoping someone on this website may have already done the research for me and can provide direct sources.

I had been told the same thing by my ex a few years back when I was trying to get her spunk drunk so a tadpole would grow in her box. She claimed that it lowered your sperm count. What a whore.

I smoked daily. We conceived in 2 weeks using the fuck every day plan. Not to sound gross but after the deed was done the wifey laid there for a bit and let the baby batter stew for a bit. Has your wifey tried doing that? My sister and her husband tried for almost 3 years unsuccessfully and finally went to a specialist after learning of our luck. Some people just aren't compatible.
