99% of the people in here are missing the point.. Yea they tax the hell out of it, but its still free and LEGAL to grow now… This is dominately a growing site, why argue when we already grow our own?
Because no matter what, people will complain. It's the internet.

Is there a limit on how many plants you can grow at any one time? Also, do they count plants that aren't flowering as cannabis plants?

In CO I believe it is 6 plants. You can only have 3 in flower. Dont quote me 100% on that though.

To the people that complain about taxes. If you don't want to pay taxes, don't. Just stay off the streets, highways, stay out of most concert venues, don't use our schools. Stay out of our pools when it's hot, don't shop in the mall, Don't call the fire department when you house is on fire, or the Police when your house is broken into, or you know, any number of things that our taxes go to support.
That's a load of bullshit in a way. If i do not earn money i am not paying taxes but i have every right to use those services none the less. That is how taxes work, whether you like it or not. Hence why there is so much controvesy about higher taxes on the rich than poor, and the spongers on their various government benefits still receiving services paid for by taxes. But like it or not that is how it is.

The super rich could say that you only pay say 10% of your earnings in tax so you only get to use tax funded services a fraction of the amount that those paying 45% do.

don't get me wrong though, i hate tax avoidance and that lot, but it's stupid to go off on the don't phone the police kinda stuff, it simply is what it is.

I live in Colorado and I am glad I grow my own. It cost me approx. $6.66 an Oz to grow my own per crop. Sometimes less.
dam dude, i should let you grow my shit FOR ME.

What did the taxes end up being i read 55% a few months back. We will see if the feds come out. I'm sure everyone is watching. Isnt there is a 17% thc maximum?
the max limit is for edibles. i guess with buds the skies the limit.

You are correct. 6 plants per 21 and over w/ 3 in flower, 3 in veg. Max 12 plants per dwelling regardless of how many adults live there. (applies to most areas)

Wild scenario (for a good perspective)

Who is the one more likely to get busted by the feds and/or cops:
A house in Colorado for a 3 plant operation?
A house in a "illegal" state with the same 3 plant operation

I understand state vs federal like everyone else, but having it legal in the state is the extra justification. I understand that this scenario probably evens out at 100+ plants.

if you say its for making edibles, in colorado you can grow 24 total (flower and veg). In cali it varies through each county. most are 6 /12 . San Jose has no limit. Humby and mendo are 100sq ft per patient. there you can carry 3 lbs. and every where else its 1/2 lbs. but if you say you need more for your condition you can grow up to 99

I'm very glad that people can grow and possess cannabis without the fear of arrest and incarceration, but I do understand the outrage over such a high tax. But what really blows my mind is why does it cost so much these days when there is more of it? When I started smoking in the 80s, I could buy a nickle bag ($5) that was basically a baggie with a fingers worth, a dime bag ($10) was two fingers. That was also a time when it was hard to find, at least where I was then. What caused the prices to skyrocket since then? Especially when more and more of it is being produced in the country now, as opposed to having to smuggle it in like in the old days?

Crap, people now are selling tiny little nugs that are almost a pinner for $40-60 each. Which is why I'm glad to have learned to grow my own!

Congrats to Colorado, and a big thank you. Chip away at the criminality -- the economics will take care of itself. What Colorado has done will slowly pave the way for similar legislation in every other state. And I'm looking forward to that!

Im going to colorado in a few weeks, im going to take a 1/4 Lb. In California im getting 600 at local shops, if i have any luck i will let you all know. Im sure my card will not be good there so a friend there will try and make the sale for me....

Yep, recreational is 6 per adult in the house but I think Denver is wanting to limit that to a max of 12. edit: BF beat me to it :)

Its only in the Denver area so far.

And they price they are asking now is the street price over ten years ago.

Posted yesterday of the cost.

The price will go down. It did with the medical in this state. I saw it for 99-125 an ounce all the time.
They will make a shit load of money, and so will the state. People will stop buying it from a shop and only by from a dealer.
When that happens the shops will drop the price and people will come back.

Prices will drop. They have to. I could see 250 zips in a year.

Its hard to use a right thats not a right. Roads are paid with gas taxes, if you dont have any money your not buying gas and your not driving.
Its a luxury tax. So is buying beer, cigarettes, pot, lotto tickets, ect.
A luxury tax is something you can avoid.

It doesn't really matter what form the tax is. In the western world it is pretty much always the case that the taxpayers pay for services that the non-tsx payer gets to use. It doesn't matter who it is, where it is, the police have to respond to a murder. Anyone coming in with the "don't use...." Mindset, well they're just an idiot. When I say that, I do not mean that they are not being logical, but I'm saying that in that they simply don't understand reality. The tax payer ALWAYS ends up subsidising someone whether we like it or not. That is life. That is how taxes work. Even if everyone paid tax, as per my previous post, it would still be the case. Rich people pay substantially higher tax rates than the poor yet they all get the same service. Just as the lowest tax rates get the same service as those paying no tax. People have no right to ask people who don't pay tax not to use services so long as they accept the super rich paying higher tax rates.
