No. His exact words are "on the day of the shooting". I admit at first it does sound that way.

A little thought makes me believe it is a short clip out of context or it would be longer.

Could of been a response to a question like if he thought there was a legitimate threat why did you still go to school.

It is a clip. No pretext to it. He also does not say the word news or mentions hearimg news.
