Manchin is a agent planted in the Democratic Party by the republicans to mess things up. we don’t need much help doing it but he just throws a wrench in all the gears lately

If Manchin were my Senator, I'd hate him and work to get a better Democrat to represent me. I live in Oregon. We can do better.

But he's not from Oregon. He was elected by the people of West Virginia and he's pretty popular there. I respect the will of the vote and Manchin is their choice.

I'm for democracy. I might support a PAC that is trying to unseat him. But I'm glad he's there, just the same. I expect my representatives in DC to work with him where they can.

A lesser Build Back Better bill will be negotiated and will get passed. We'll move forward. It's better than the backward alternative that Republicans offer.

Wv is a very hard state to represent. Its economy is so broken and the state is so ravaged by poverty and backward thinking in some areas, that anybody doing it would have to be all over the place with there views and opinions. I live an hour from wv and spend a lot of time in the state and our area is very much the same way. It just seems every politician gets rich in office and does nothing to make anything better but hey he’s good for life now.

Parts of Oregon aren't any better than W Va. Maybe worse. The only Republican serving in Congress that represents Oregon is 10x worse than Manchin. Not my district, so, OK, they have the man they want and nothing I can do about it. My vote got me the representation I want.

I'm surprised at how complacent you are about non-performing representatives. We in Oregon have two very good Senators and the guy who represents my district in the House, Peter DeFazio is also pretty good. They, along with other Democrats have gotten quite a bit done this year.

I'm not aware of even a hint of corruption from them. When I hear people talk with sweeping generalities about "they got rich" inferring that "they" sold out or when I hear that "they" don't do anything, I start asking for names. There probably are a few bad apples in the Democratic caucus but I'm not getting the same vibe you have about that side of the floor.

Also, most Senators and Congressmen have high approval ratings in their districts. Seems that "the other guy" is the one most people dislike or castigate. People like and often vote to retain their current representatives.

So. I got locked out of the 2020 thread. Anybody know why that would happen? I didn't swear, I didn't troll . . .

I'm guessing my opinion wasn't popular?
