LP "starting materials"

Places like that got a lot more overhead than lots and all a guy needs is a few clones to use as mothers and can get the ball rolling quicker. At least the price is reasonable and some of the genetics are what you'd buy as seeds. I've grown out a lot of strains just to find out they don't do what I want. The buddy I just got some clones off sells them for $15 but gave me 6 for free. He sells mostly to local mid-sized growers who don't want to mess around keeping mothers and sells 20 - 100 at one pop. Good little side business.

:peace:

Ok everyone I am pretty new here, when I filled out my forms for acmpr i had to check off the box stating that I will require "starting materials". So the part that I find frustrating is that, many people both on and off MMAR have worked very hard to cultivate strains that are tailored to our specific needs and growing environment.

I'm not aware if any of the LP's are currently selling "starting materials" but i think that providing limitted varieties is almost useless to the patient.

These companies act as if they own the trademarks to pot. some LP's even go as far as to change the names of strains claiming the original names as "street names".. where as we know strain names have more to do with breeding and lineage than whatever name a "dealer wants to call it".

i don't expect much from this new "interim" measure. and who is to say there will be anything available anytime soon?

just my thoughts
Well some of the cannabis clinics will ask for receipts showing that you bought seeds from an LP, otherwise you are "breaking the law" and the dr may not renew you. Well, there are no LPs selling seeds yet, only clones. The clones cost a ton of money. Doesn't make sense to me and I wonder how a clinic can keep going with this requirement because no one will be able to provide this proof.

THIS is a good enough reason to boycott LP's
there is nothing affordable coming from lp's.
My buddy bought from bedrocan, first order came and it was all nice looking but harsh smoking buds...
I told him that I had heard that they only supply ....milled or ground up swag...so I was surprised
2nd order comes ...no buds all milled.... and with a 2 buck a gram price increase and he is a low income earner.
so compassion prices at 7 bucks a gram???? I said you've been ripped off for high price jar of shake.

You are completely correct here, my buddy is a decent (not great) grower working with subpar genetics and his shit is substantially more aromatic, flavorful and medicating than the 20%+ THC LP shit.

$20 + packaging, + tax, + shipping....rounded up it'll be more like $50/pop.
Clone shippers (their packaging I am guessing since they bought the company that makes them) are $10-15 iirc, so you are likely pretty close with your prediction.

I would be afraid of the LP's providing me with sick and or infected plants...bugs....plant disease , plant rust.
and even a small amount of dirt with the potential to carry a host of things......
