Lowryders...

Ok i've decided on what I want to grow for my first ever hopefully harvestable plant.

Lowryder

Its seriously an amateur plant and I want to see what I can do with it so why not, I've just started growing some random seeds but im not interested in seeds I cant research (sounds sad I know but...)

Anyway, my question is, does anyone know if I can just use a 400W HPS bulb all the way through this plants growth upto its harvest (18 on 6 off) or do I once again have to start off with a fluorescent in the seedling stages

If any of you have had experience growing lowryders and dont mind dropping me their msn address for some advice whilst growing that would be much appreciated.

love. :)

a 400w hps will easily work for the whole process. i veg for the first couple weeks with compact fluoros just for the sake of conserving energy. if you decide to use a hps for the whole process, just make sure to put it a good distance away from seedlings or clones.

hey h2o how many plants do you want to grow? and sublime i read somewhere that you cant clone lowryders becuase it has no vegetative stage, that replanting is a must. in that case could i keep a male plant and get some seeds from the bud? or i wouldnt have to keep buying seeds

yeah thats my plan
Gonna buy 10 seeds
put 5 plants under the hps (hanging from my garage ceiling) and if there are any males im gonna take that plant up into my bedroom and put it under my 50W fluorescent just hit or miss on whether I get some seeds because I havnt got any other lights and dont want the males to fuck wit my females, then when my females are just about to go into harvest im gonna plant 5 more so i have a crop half done when im harvesting my first, and hopefully if i receive some males from my crop and get some seeds i'll do the same again, sorta a cycle like, but we'll see.....

and no it's very rare for them to be cloned because as crickit said, when they sprout it pretty much goes straight into flowering stage with buds growing really close to the soil...

from what i hear...

anyway wish me luck :D

Good luck. Keep us posted as well. If you haven'r already ordered your seeds, might i recomend a lowryder cross. Lowryder itself isn't supposed to be too strong. However, over the years there has been a lot of cross breeding where potency has gotten better and it has retained it's auto flowering trait. Also, I have heard of people having sucsess with using one big rectangle 10 or 20 gallon pot for 10 seeds. You shouldn't need more than 2 gallons per seed.

Those would be perfect for the style of growing I like to do. The low potency part doesnt turn me on though. I read a little on them and its amazing they will bud under 24 hours of light. Pretty cool.

Thats awesome, ive never even heard of this lowryder but that auto flowering trait seems really cool, i gots no money to spend on seed tho, guess it'll have to wait. By the way H20xygen if that plants yours, its a really nice one! : )

hey potheads,
im thinking of growing some lowryders, if space isnt an issue should i be growing some bigger stuff?

Depends I guess, only reason im starting on lowryders is cuz its really easy from what i've read with a decent enough yeild if the conditions are right. :D

I had a couple shorties in my crop, but i started them late, and when my bigger plants were ready to flower then i put them under the flowering light as well, didnt work very well as i only had 2 150W fluor's for 8 large plants, and 4 shorties
