So I got an old apt and I gots a closet that I turned into my room. Well the only downside of this closet is it has a register that runs of a thermastat for the entire apt so when the apt gets below 70 it kicks on. Well it runs off boiler heat and idk if you guys have experienced this or not but boiler heat is extremely dry. I got 22% humidity on reg and I put a humidifer in the room for a couple hours and it only bumped it to like 35%. So my question is is this bad? Ik your supposed to be more like 55% but I figured once my babies go in tonight! Which btw already germed and ready to go when I get off work. That the transpiration would bump up the humidity. What you think ? Am I fucked?

And also the register is a big issue with my heat I got my 1000w light in a small room and its maxing at like 86-88ish right now but I haven't installed my 2 6in wall fans infront of my passive intake so I figured that that should bring her down to like 76-78 hopefully. What do you think! I need all the input I can get since the past year of me saving money and studying up is now being put to the test officially tonight! I got 5 hours to brush up on all i,need to know for now. Please and ty for the responses!

The closet has a register in it? What kind? Heat or cold air return?
22% is low, 35% is better but a bit more to like 40 - 50% would be the goal. (I run at 45-50%) I wouldn't want to run it low like that till maybe they reach the 5-6 internodes.
Put some pan's of water on the heat registers around the apartment. May help some too.
You may need another humidifier, put it close to the air intake for the closet - Put in your fans!
You may need to get an air cooled hood for the heat in your situation.

I got a 440 cfm fan with a 550 cfm phresh filter and a 1000w xtrasun air cooled and I got a humidifer with a humidistat and all but lets hope that these fans work ill find out soon! But its a hot air register that runs off the boiler downstairs but here in a month or so when it warms up the register will be barely on. And the way my closet is I got it set up to where when you walk in you got a filter to ducting to light then ducting tht goes horizontally to the wall and down into the floor. Then I got a hole in the wall with a screen on it and 2 6 in fans soon that will sit in front of the hole pulling fresh air from the outside basically because I got a stair case that's very drafty and I just pull my air from under that and it pulls from the porch basically. Its hard to explain but its the only way for me to do my shit.

Picture as you open the door it as a upside down L. So when you walk in you got 2ft of space for my humidifer and filter then horizontally I got a 5x3 scrog.

Do you have a register or a radiator? If it is a register just cover it. If it is a radiator you can try insulating it with some of that reflective bubble wrap stuff. My humidity is always low. Stays around the high 20s for the entire grow. I never really had a problem and not sure what problems are caused by low humidity.

Idk what it is exactly but its one of those old ass like 3ft long all metal registers that's got one big 2-3in wide vent that goes all the way down. Idk if covering it would be best because it doesn't get like extremely hot but its just warm enough to maybe make platic melt to it. Dunno Wut I should do. I wish I could take a picture but I dunno if it'd be smart to take a pic with my phone and upload it.

Side note: its about a foot tall and it sits on the floor against the wall and its only like 1in total from the wall

you could cover it, like Brokeoldbloke said, the air will just be forced out the other registers. Or you could just build some duct work to divert the warm air out of the closet so the room still gets heat. pans of water with a fan blowing on it will raise humidity, or an airstone in a shallow bowl of water. Other option is a cool air humidifier, i have a really old one- mid '70's?- all it is is a disk that spins and throws water around inside a housing causing a fine mist of water. The one thing you need to watch is bacteria, the cool air humidifiers are not recommended for home use anymore because they are know to foster bacteria, just run a hyd. perox./water mix and it will keep it sterile.

Go to a sign company or search the net for some magnetic sheeting. Get enough to cover the output of the register and you'll most likely have to cut it to fit. Covering with a "cover" made from wall board to "deflect" or "redirect" the hot air out of the closet via another venting hole is a better idea.
Low humidity will make you have to water your plants more often.....That could lead to overfeeding if you feed at every watering.

I'm doing organics so I can't really overfeed. But I putem in when I had the temps at 80 then closed the door and let her go all night then I wake up and my roommate said I need to turn it way the fuck down or its done. So I just bought a duct silencer and another speed controller and ill be hooking up my other 440cfm fan in the place of the 6ins then ill put the 6in in the corners. I think that should stop my 97° temp that I just walked into. But it won't be fixed for a couple days until they come in.Am iI fucked? Also reason why it went from 80 97 was because its daylight and I had to turn the fan way down until I get the silencer

What kind of light cycle do you have them on? If they are on 24 hours right now. Just try leaving the door open if that's an option. Will probably let a lot of that heat out.
