I just feel bad for the average (non-emotionally invested) Mars-Hydro user. Typically the discussions are more straightforward. T5HO or CMH is a better choice (usable light vs energy used vs up-front cost). Epi-whatever diodes will grow, enjoy your harvest. People are able to not feel like they're being criticized for their purchase. They understand the factors (and that they were fortunate not to get swindled by the big-markup rebrands like Kind, Lush, HydroGrowLED.). They spend about as much on their first light as they would on a boutique "lineup" of nutrients. No big deal.
It's not personal to them.
But, @daillman it's personal. 80w/sq ft for the win. That's great -- for him. We just want to make sure prospective buyers aren't misled by his subjectivity. I hope new growers who own a Mars don't feel ostracized due to his divisiveness.
