Looking to buy cfl setup! **help**

basically need someone from UK or US to give me website to help get a CFL light set up sorted for small grow ? thanks

buy some cfls at walmart or whatever and get the light sockets you can plug in and make your own light set up. way cheaper than buying something already fabricated

what are you tryin to do and how much space do you have and do you need to order online cuz i built a real nice setup up all flourescent...if you have access to home depot or anything like that they should have a large number of cfls all sizes and specturms i use 3 tube flourescent fixtutres for veg the fixtures cost 9 dollars at home depot thery plug into normall sockets and they take t12 48 inch flourescent bulbs 6500k and for flower i just switched the tubes in the fixtures to 3000k and they also have monster 300 watt 2700k CFL at home depot i use that plugs into normal lamp fixtures and i get as much if not more then i did with hps and metal halide....if you really need a website go to www.htgsupply.com and the lamps and bulbs section have good deals on cfls or if you want to order tube fixtures they have those as welll in the grow light section. i use this site alot and i have never not had an order come

thanks guys, will prob have more questions soon after i check those sites out. looking to grow around 5 plants for personal only and space isnt really to much of issue at the moment.

took the words right out of my mouth, thats what i did and my girls are thriving for (cost of lighting, not other materials) under 25 bucks, idk how that converts to euros, but its pretty cheap given the alternative

another wee question for you guys, right basically i have all fixings sorted. Light sockets state max 40 watt but I reckon with CFL bulb (40 Watt 150W Equal) would they run alright or just burn out ? HELP** many friends reckon they should run alright but you lot will know better.

well as long as you set it up right they'll run pretty good, it takes for ever for those cfl's to burn out, ive been running mine non stop for a month, just recently did i turn them off for the 18/6 schedule

oh and what schedule do you suggest i start with ? had 18/6 in mind, not sure at the moment

well just cuz it works for me doesn't make it good, ive got big ass fan leaves good for soaking up all that light. i would suggest for 3-5 plants setting up 4-6 bulbs.
i did mine on a 24 hour cycle for a month and 2 days ago started 18/6 so if you want i guess you could start with that, i mean it will save 1/4 of the energy, for seedling and cuttings though you need just a little bit of cool white for 24 hours, when you start to notice the 5 blade leafs on your seedlings thats when you up the watts and basically take care of it as normal

ok well i will keep you posted heres a quick wee example of grow box very quickly sketched up on pc.

ok, for one thing they need to be horizontal, thats how you maximize the light output, basically on the sides you have many coils, on the top theres one coil
also, the lights need to be 1-2 inches away from the plants, cfl does great upclose, but if their too far away you end up with tiny leaves with 2-3 inches between each node
other than that thats a pretty good set up, you make that drawing yourself?

okay, im at work all this week but at the weekend i will take pictures and show you my progress so far of growbox construction. few changes will be made;

lights- horizontal with height adjustment
vents- going to sort some fan exaust system
smell- will be installing some sort of smell neutraliser

& Yeah i done that drawing very quick lol dont criticise it.

no not criticizing that was good for a quick doodle, shit thats good for takin an hour lol, for smell i get this stuff called ona gel, it sucks in the bad odors and puts out a smell relative to a urinal cake
