i seen some pics were pleople have ther lights like 6 inches away from the plants when trher full grown y is this? and ther MH by the way . i keep my lite 2 1/2 feet away shoul i put it closer?

Lights are supposed to be as close to the plant as possible without burning. I keep my lights 3-4 INCHES away...but I'm not using MH

Having your light further from the plant than necessary will cause her to stretch.

hey thanks for leting me know. yeah my plants are stretching alot. but whats to close . how hot is my hand sopose to be. when i place it over the plant

That depends upon the wattage of the bulb. Remember what SeeMore said, (insert SMB DVD plug here ), use your hand as a measuring tool. If your hand can't take the heat, neither can your plants.
