Placer sheriff: Apartment explosion involved hashish lab

Placer County authorities are investigating an explosion at an Auburn apartment complex earlier this week that they said appears to have been caused by a clandestine hashish laboratory set up in a bathroom.
The four occupants of the apartment unit where the explosion occured received non-life-threatening burns and have been treated, Lt. Jeff Ausnow, spokesman for the Placer County Sheriff's Department, said today. Residents in surrounding units were evacuated but not injured.
Authorities responded to the complex on Gateway Court about 9 p.m. Tuesday after hearing reports of an explosion. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which was contained to the unit where the lab was located.
Sheriff's detectives and officials from the state Department of Justice are investigating the lab, where hashish was being extracted from marijuana plants, Ausnow said.
The explosion appears to have been fueled by flammable fumes - including butane - used in the process, Ausnow said.
No arrests have been made as detectives continue their investigation, he said.
However, Ausnow said the four occupants could face felony charges of manufacturing a controlled substance.

I wonder what set it off...wondering if these guys where stupid enough to be smoking a bowl or something whilst doing the extraction or if it was some other spark not related to thier own stupidity.

Anyone stupid enough to make butane honey oil in a bathroom is certainly stupid enough to light up.

The really fucked up thing is how many people are going to read this article and associate their local pothead as a guy that might be running a clandestine "lab". As in meth lab, as in explosions and toxic chemicals. These stupid fucks got the explosion part right.

I don't know how someone goes about doing. Bho extraction in a bathroom?

I said it b4 and I'll say it again. Butane will bite you in the ass everytime you use it without proper ventillation

You don't need an open flame to set B off, that shit has a hairy trigger when it comes to friction...

I considers doing my BHO in my Apartment, But I Also was gonna cut the power to my Apt. so no electrical sparks and or set up some kind of air hood using plastic cut box and a fan so to this effect

Yup it happened in the bathroom, you guys know god damn well those dumb fucks thought it would be a good idea to use the bathroom fan to ventilate it and didnt realise that electric motors generate sparks when they operate lol...

lol loved the clandestine hashish laboratory part as well. What dumb asses though I wonder if they will get any charges for this.
