Lighting Help

I am on a tight budget and can only afford cfls. right now i am using 2 20 watt flourescent tubes. Is this not enough to grow a single plant with, because it seems to be growing fairly slowly. Any recommendations?

why would u ask about recomendations? you know what needs to be done. if its growing slow yes you need more light.
id "recomend" getting a few more or a nice 250 watt cfl or t5 tubes
or if thats not an option maybe you could veg outdoors

they are not enough... you need at least 86w per plant, and thats the bare bones minimum.

Thank you, thats exactly what i was looking for. Another question though, is that 86 watts the wattage on the cfl bulbs or the equivalent wattage? (like how some cfl bulbs say "20 watts, (75w equivalent)?
