Light Question

So I had germinated a batch of 4 seeds for 3 days, got nothing, so I put 4 more in a towel, and let them sit overnight. The second batch popped open in under 24 hours, so I planted them. A day later I looked back at the first batch, and to my suprise, all of them had popped now as well.

So ive got all 8 seedilings under three 42 watt CFL (200 watt Equiv) 6700k Spectrum

I dont plan on growing 8, its more then I want to do, my box is too small and I dont have enough light for 8.

This is my question, am i better off letting them grow a little, and see which are looking healthier, or do i sacrifice now and give them more light ?

Please Help

just watch out if you do survival of the fittest thing.....males grow faster and bigger I've heard... meaning dont just hack the small ones......so maybe veg em all....flip to 12/12 and get the males out....leaving room to flower the fems.....An Idea.
good luck

ok heres what i would do. i would get more lights. then i would grow them in the box untill i ran out of room and then i would put the rest outside if the temps are up. this time of year they will flower and you will be able to tell whos males and females out of the plants outside. then you can take the plants from out of the box and put them outside and put your confirmed females in the box then when the last few plants tell you if they are male or female you can put those confirmed females under the cfls too. with cfls you want 3 lights on one plant (at its peak in height) or as close to it as you can.

Just add a couple more cfls. Also i would keep all of them because they are reg seeds right so like someone pointed out males grow faster then females so you might end up tossinng most of your females.Or you can wait and pick out your best 4-5 seedlings.

cfls are three dollars a peice at the dollar store or you can get them at walmart for 12 bucks for a package of them

Im gonna sccop a couple more CFL's, let em grow for another week or two, then make a decision on the healthier plants.

I live in the midwest, and putting plants outside isnt an option right now.

Plus the tent im having made is only 2'x2'x4' so im gonna need to cut down at some point.
