LIGHT question

is 2 42W CFLS too much for only one plant and will they work threw the whole grow??should i go higher or lower in watts?

If I'm using cfl's I like the high watt light's 6500k in veg. I add 3 42w 2700k to my hps in flower. I grew and kept a mom under a 100w cfl. here's a pic, the 4' tube behind the plant was never used. but it helps see how big the plant is. so got one early on most went male one under the 100w and the cfl set up. I'v used it differant ways now it's mostley side light.

aint too much light unless its too close or too hot man i only go 3 26w cfls set up for my first grow but i never started mine yet

so wat can i get that wil work threw the whole grow veg,and flowering???

u need 2700 k rating cfls fo flowering (more red, or orange light beam) and 6500 k rating cfls for vegging(more bluish beam)but a mix works good my 3 26ws are fo 1-2 plants to harvest but very small personnal ones becuz i have low low low hight almost like a pc case but those lights should work for 1 plant they ll WORK but higher wattage the better just watch ur heat, leafs for yellow or burn spots, and the hight of the light bulbs...most people say the un gives off 10,000 lumens right? and u can grow a big 5 footer or even bigger with the sun so if u get 10,000 lumens of cfls u could probably grow a 5 footer inside but the golden rule i was told is 5,000 is for a pretty good plant so calculate ur lumens per cfl times it by the number of cfls u have n there u go u probably have around 4,500ish with those 2 42watters

so if i had another 2 42watters around flowering..which will be 4 42watters=168watss 9000lumens u think il get bigger buds??A good plant? im new to all this .

alrighty bud. first off, the more light the better as long as you can keep temps down. what you should do is buy yourself 2 of those 42w at 6500. also, buy yourself 3 of those 42 w at 2700k. during veg, put both of the 6500k's and 1 one the 2700k(giving you a total of 3 lights). during flower, put in all 5 of the lights. contrary to popular belief, your plants will appreciate the blue spectrum during flowering. if you do this, i think you will be more than fine. with a little air circulation you will grow some dank hard nugs with cfls. i did it for two yrs before i had to jump into the hid world.
