Light leak, First week of flower

Now im guessing its not such a big deal being that I left the tent open for only 1 hour in flower. I currently have the lights off from 9:05am to 9:38pm giving just over 12.5 hours of darkness (idk why the timer isn't exact to 12.5) but wondering if I should turn the lights on a little later today to combat the light leak before putting them back to their normal schedule.

I shut the tent when I realized I left it open at 10:06. I unplugged the load side of timer so I could manually turn them back on a little later (like 9:45/9:50pm) to give them more darkness. Really want to avoid herms as best as possible and not harm my yield. This is on day 5 of flower so the buds have barely started to form at all.

thanks for your time and comments

You should be fine, don't make a habit out of it, then you're going to see problems. One time isn't going to mess them up. Just get back on schedule and keep them stable for the next couple weeks. What made you decide on the 11.5/12.5 schedule vs a 12/12? Were you having trouble getting them to flower?

Never heard of a 12.5 flowering schedule but you’ll be fine like the homie asked why did you go with a 12.5 or a 11.5

yeah from now on i'll close the tent immediately after waterings and pruning so I dont make the mistake again, been sick last few days and literally dreamt of making this mistake and then actually did... *facepalm*

The 12.5hrs comes from my first grow with this strain. It seemed to shoot out nanners on its last 2/3 weeks in 12/12 so I cut it back to 12.5/11.5. My grows with it since then have been completely seedless and my last grow yielded 15+ ounces dried from 4 plants in 1 gallon pots! I know I could use bush doctor at that point but I never used it yet and didnt want to add anything extra to the soil.

one other reason I run 12.5 darkness is because my timer has never been exact to the intervals you set it too, like how it is now where its dark from 905 am to 938pm, I know its only a loss of 3 minutes but was afraid that it might go the other way (extra light time) so to air on safety I gave it some more time. Flowering still goes 9/10 weeks at 12.5.

thanks for getting back to me guys
ps. my dad also said "not to worry just keep things on schedule how they were and tell the plants youre sorry" haha

I don't know the science but I've definitely seen how bright the moon is at night, say on a southern facing deck. I feel like the idea of keeping it in total darkness or else is a good way to keep people from having schedules that vary too greatly and could cause potential problems, it's probably better to err on the side of caution... Just trying to exercise my critical thinking here because I don't know anything for sure.

Carry on as normal, wouldn't do it again tho.

The light from the moon is reflection from the sun, it does not effect flowering outside whatsoever....

Now a light leak inside can certainly mess things up you want to have zero amount of lumens period.

sorry to res this, but I hate when people start a thread say they'll tell you how it went and never talk about it.

My expirience with herms: Genetics over everything

I really haven't had many light leaks since this posting and have changed my grow up many times since. anyways, that grow hermed hard, but seeded little. Ive grown as many herms as Sensis in my life, and now the Sensimillia ratio is starting to go up. If you have a herm, I advise you to not even touch it if you only have that one plant or maybe two in your garden. ignore the sacks and the nanners. disturbing them will only spread the pollen more. Dont even prune your plant at this point, hard jerking motions on the leaves (I guess u can use clippers) will spread the pollen alot. the leaves almost encapsulate the pollen a bit. just water it till end of flower and enjoy it

This grow ended up being some fantastic smoke even though there were seeds, comparable to my seedless plants. pretty much the stuff ive just been giving away but everyone also says its some good stuff. thought I would share
