Yea I worry when the closet starts creeping up above 90. One of the main reasons I don't like to grow indoors here during the summer at any rate I'll have to check out the DM Reverse too....see if it actually works to reverse a hermie

A small update just to let y'all know that i switched out my AgroMax light for a Phillips 400w CMH bulb. Ive heard alot of good things so i decided what the fuck it does indeed run a bit cooler than my HPS which is nice. anyone here have any CMh experience ?

Man bro i've been wanting to go that route for over a year now and have yet to pull the trigger on it mainly because the ballast i don't like that huge ballast that it runs on i wish they ran on digital ballast but i do here great reviews about them so good luck i'll be watching close..

Im 57 days in with my Buku and im about to cut my three plants in about 2 days, they look good. Im expecting about at least 3 ounces per plant. I just flushed her with clearex, fructose and some blackstrap molasses.

Yea...I am using one of those old huge ballasts, so I could make the switch So far so good!

So..small update today after changing out to the CMH bulb. The plants have had explosive growth over the last few days...although that is kinda normal during the first week of flowering.

Here are the light analysis info between HPS and CMH bulbs:

The plants seem to be absolutely loving the new light. They are a bit stretchy and the branches are not very sturdy...despite my usage of ProTekt ..which is supposed to make the plants a bit more tough and rigid. Not sure if this is me, or the plant's genetics at work here. Plus, hydroponics lends itself to this as well. Not really a big deal, I've just had to use alot of twist ties and such to secure the branches.

Changed out the res today with fresh nutes. These guys seem to like alot of nitrogen ..they were looking a bit too pale green, so I increased the nutrient levels a bit and am now using the recommended strength for the "keep it simple recirculating" feeding program . Adjusted PH to 5.85

hey after the next few weeks with that CMH bulb let us know if thats kickin ass or not. can you put that bulb into a standard MH balast? or just buy the whole system?
i liked them when i saw htgsupply get em in i just wasnt ballsy enough to buy it.

man i have greenhouse seeds new og kush pheno and it was getting real pale green too until i boosted nitrogen this week.

Those little shelves worked out for you pretty well. I might just have to try one of those out here in the future on a smaller plant.

So...a few things to report now that it's 12 days into flowering. I've got good news and bad news folks. First the bad news....

BOTH plants are absolutely full blown raging hermies...so I've learned my lesson w/the BUKU. It's a shame, because they look like some incredible plants. Maybe I'll try this strain again except I wont' get feminized seeds next time. Here are some pics before I chop them down...<queue's up TAPS >:



Now the good news:

I went to a nursery and picked up a few clones a week ago just in case the BUKU decided to have an identity crisis. I'm glad I did!

So ...coming in to replace the BUKU are :"Albert Walker" , and "OG Kush #18".
I took cuttings from each of the clones ( they were more like "teens"), because I want to keep these strains for another grow or two. I also picked up a smaller clone of "ChemBubble" , which I was told was very special.

I was thinking I will just keep this thread going with the new girls rather than start a new journal...although I don't want to confuse people who might have come here looking specifically to see BUKU. What do you think ?

woah. thats a real damn shame. they looked so great... i guess where im confused is you had your last grow with buku go hermie and ive seen a good amount of other peoples go hermie. i cant figure out why the hell TH seeds would even offer this as female if theyre really gunna be hermies. this sucks cuz i still have fem seeds :/.

keep this thread going. the og 18 is a perfect plant for your scrog/lst set up and anything with chem in it is worth growing out. theyre close enough relation to the buku to just keep it going and anyone looking for buku should get enough info to know by now not to buy fem buku.

Just read through the thread. Bummer about your plants going hermie. Sounds like you got some bunk seeds (likely a hermie in their lineage). I'm still subscribing to your thread, though. Good luck with the new clones. Can't wait to see how they work out for you.
