i def. hear ya on that one. i have been doing the same thing for a while because my tents are so short. i like what you did with the shelf on the top of the bucket because it gives you the ability to scrog and lst.

man 3oz from a black domina is pretty darn good. i think i got maybe 1oz off mine a couple months ago.
hey just wondering, how tall is the hydrofarm bucket?
Thanks man. The little shelf works great for exactly the same reason's that you said ;) I like the plants short and bushy and this method allows me to achieve that goal.

The bucket is 15.5" tall, and the distance from the top of the bucket to the top of the tallest branch on the plant is about 20" or so...so the whole entire thing clocks in at just under 3ft.

Here's a few pics of my BD plant with some items to show the scale. The whole plant is under 3FT tall...with each 'branch' being between 10 - 16" and pretty much packed with buds the thickness of coke-cans from the bottom of the shelf to the top . I'm definitely going back to the nursery for more clones of this if the final smoke is as good as it's shaping up to be.

damn, thats a really nice bd. man im thinking about grabbing some of those racks and form them all the way across a 2'x4' flood tray.
i dont mean to be a pain in the ass but do you have any idea the dimensions of the rack? its perfect for what im trying to do. i have just a nylon trellis but the squares are so big its useless.

how long did you veg it for?

(edit:hey your tent is probably the same height as mine. if youre using light reflector hangers... light yoyo's or ratchet rope, youre losing about 6-8inches of height. last night i took mine off and just put hooks on the reflector and i got right at 8inches more for my plants to grow. i cant move the reflector without a lot of work, but at that point theres no reason to need to move it.)

hey did that plant grow more short n fat? or tall n lanky with longer running buds?
i like the strain but im afraid to take a chance and them tun more sativa dom. and become too hard to manage.

doesnt th seeds say it finishes in 55 days?

My tent is: 36"x20"x48"

Im not using any kind of light hangers , they are just hooked directly to the bars on the tent. If I need to adjust the height then I just put phone books underneath them.

I veg for 4 weeks...any more and they tend to outgrow the shelf/rack and the space I have to grow them in.

Here is the rack i'm using...they do make them in different sizes, etc. I had to bend the legs a bit to get them to snap onto the top of the bucket

So they are both now being trained under the shelf for LST/SCROG and doing really well so far! The branching has already started to take off....

Not seeing much of a difference between the two pheno's just yet....but it's still early.

man 3oz off your black domina with 4 weeks veg is pretty nice. i grabbed a couple sets of a different brand but as i can see from your update and pictures...they really do help with the stretch of ogk.

the girls are looking good man. i cant wait to see how these yield with the scroglst.

Nice! I'm subscribed for Buku show. I'm actually thinking of digging out my old waterfarms for another hydro run, this might just be the inspiration I need.

for those of you who use the waterfarm... i know how the unit works with the column running a drip system through an air pump, but do you run your air pump 24/7 365? or does it run like most drip systems and only run for 2 1min cycles a day?

basically, is it worth buying the pumping columns and running the same set up in 5gal buckets? do the plants get the same size as doing DWC in 5 gals?

Mine is chopped, dried and curing. I got around a oz of some fine smoke. you are gonna love it. very tastey, hard nugs. the yeild not so great but I'll take the blame as this plant got stuck back in the corner of my box and didn't get a good veg. period. I have another fem seed I might give it a go in the future but damn there's just so many strains out there and Im workin my way through em one at a time. cheers

I run it 24/7.... In addition to that, the 'inner' bucket is quite a bit shallower than the res bucket that it fits into...so with 2 of the 5 gal buckets you would also have to add in some kind of risers to raise the inner bucket up a bit so you have some room for your water. I've never run DWC so I can't compare on that.

Thanks for riding along sir! I'm hoping for greatness! Always a gamble when you start from seed. The last time I tried a run at this strain, I ended up with a hermie that was to the point of no return. I've heard that is common with BUKU but I'm hoping that this time we will see some nicer results

The girls are doing nicely! The two different pheno's are starting to show their differences now. The "A" pheno is def. looking to be more on the sativa side with longer slender leaves, a bit more stretchy. The "B" pheno has a more compact structure with fatter leaves...definitely looking to be more on the indica side.

Tell me what you think...here are a few shots of each of them. They are not topped, btw...I just train the main cola down and around the shelf like an @ symbol and then start threading all the little branches and shoots around until they are evenly dispersed...there's not enough growth just yet to do much re-arranging just yet. I will continue to train them for the first week or so into 12/12 as well...which will be next week hopefully ;)

Thanks man! It allows me to grow a full sized plant in my limited little space. Plus, since the rack is attached to the bucket, I can move the whole thing very easily. I like to turn them 45 degrees every other day or so, and also it makes it easy for me to do res changes.

Thanks for riding along! I've been using GH nutes ( micro, grow, bloom ,blend, floralicious plus, liquid koolbloom) and using roughly 1/2 of the dosage called for in the "keep it simple recirculating" feeding program. Plants seem to be loving it :)

Yes that is the waterfarm....I have a little shelf that I've attached to the top of it for LST/scroggin

Time for another update ;)

So, it's been a tad over 4 weeks since I germinated the seeds, and it being the first day of May and all...I figured it was time to start flowering! I took a cutting from each of them as well.

Flushed the girls for a while and gave them fresh nutes. They are super healthy...but perhaps maybe just a taaaad on the pale-green side.. so I added a little extra nitrogen ( grow ). PH adjusted to 5.9 . Since these are from seeds, they are most likely going to require a bit of getting used to when it comes to feeding. But so far, so good ;) Now comes the moment of truth...will they hermie or not!? THAT is the question my friends...and hopefully the suspense will end soon ;)

Oh, also...I started using "Pro-tekt" from dyna-grow. ( http://www.dyna-gro.com/003.htm ) I've heard good things about it..especially since it's a tad on the warm side where I'm growing right now ( starting to warm up ) and with no AC , it's hard to regulate the temperatures TOO much.

Not too much of a pictorial this time...they don't look that drastically different from the last update.

Looking real nice man. I'm planning on getting some protekt myself, although I didn't know it helped with higher temps. I don't have a/c and live in a really hot region, but it really isn't TOO much of a problem.

Either way, I got my buku and am just waiting for the right moment to pop her. I also have a bottle of DM Reverse so I'll definitely be using that when the time comes, you know just in case...
