Exactly the one I have........works great.APEC Water Systems ROES-50 Essence Series Top Tier 5-Stage Certified Ultra Safe Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Filter System, 50 GPD https://a.co/d/b82PNch
Wasn't aware of a permeate pump. I'll have to look into thatExactly the one I have........works great.
I also installed the permeate pump to increase output.
If you have low water pressure, it increases it, so it fills the tank more and faster.Wasn't aware of a permeate pump. I'll have to look into that
I just checked it out. Looks like a no Brainer for $53. I do remember looking at those now when I initially got the system 2.5 years ago and not knowing if it was necessary. I'm due for a filter change so I will be picking one up in the near future. If you have low water pressure, it increases it, so it fills the tank more and faster.
It's a secondary kitchen sink. The one on the "island/bar". Drilling a new hole isn't an option with this countertop so I'm really hoping to just remove the sprayer & replace it with the RO faucet. Then, I'll get some "trace mineral" drops so I can drink itYou're installing an r/o unit in your bathroom sink?
The hole for the sprayer should be the right size for the r/o faucet.
Looks great man, I'll get that one. How tall is the faucet btw, can you fit a 1gal milk jug under it? And do you drink it, or just for plants.I run this system and it fits the bill for what I need. A little slow on the dispensing, but I don't need all that much water for my 2 reservoirs. I fill up several 2.5 gallon containers and a handful of gallon jugs throughout the week for use when I need it. Keep an eye out on the warehouse deals. I got mine a couple years ago for $135 due to a damaged box.

I use a 1 gallon pitcher and then pour it into the gallon jugs with a funnel. I do drink it but I add 1/4 tsp of pink salt to a gallon. The gallon jug doesn't quite fit under the nozzle. It's a secondary kitchen sink. The one on the "island/bar". Will I need to add calmag to RO water before giving it to my plants? I'm in soil...I never water to runoff. I've seen conflicting reports on wether straight RO is ok. Or should my plants get the trace mineral drops as well.

It also signficantly reduces the waste water.Exactly the one I have........works great.

Why RO for soil? Whats the EC or ppm of your tap water? It's a secondary kitchen sink. The one on the "island/bar". 120ppm of sodium per 1liter of water according to water report. My other option is spring water & that is really expensive + heavy to carry in. And that's just the ppm from sodium. Why RO for soil? Whats the EC or ppm of your tap water?
So you don't want to use remineralized water for your plants? I'd be happy giving them mineralized water, just not 120ppm of sodium per liter. What is the ppm of your remin'd water?Sorry for how dirty my shit is. I haven’t been under my sink in a while apparently.

Ignoring my filth I would suggest adding some Tees to your filter system. Front tee breaks off before the remineralization filter and has the shut off valve at the end. I rigged a floating shut off valve to a 5 gallon bucket lid.
I just flip the shut off valve open and walk away. Come back in an hour or whatever and you’ll have a full bucket
That's a higher pH with the minerals added so I'd just add a little calmag. I've been using RO or distilled for the last 22 years and a bottle of calmag goes bad before I use it up. I bought all the parts to put my own system together down in the basement a couple years ago and still haven't hooked it all up. Got to get the Polar Bear distiller out of there, put a new element in it and sell it off.So you don't want to use remineralized water for your plants? I honestly never thought about it nor checked the ppm. I just added it for flavor. So you don't want to use remineralized water for your plants? I'd be happy giving them mineralized water, just not 120ppm of sodium per liter. What is the ppm of your remin'd water?
Ahh, so just cut my RO with like 10% tap? Smart.I honestly never thought about it nor checked the ppm. I just added it for flavor.
Now, the one issue with the remineralization filter is it will give off high ppms at the start and lessen as you use it. It probably would be more cost effective and consistent to address your plant water with an additive or a dash of tap water.
exactly. If your water comes out at 120ppm then half is 60ppm..etc I’m not a purist some people may be concerned about chlorine or chloramine but I’m in the thought camp that the microbe population will rebound quickly.Ahh, so just cut my RO with like 10% tap? Smart.
