Shoot...in the 60's I was an air cadet and did the "link" trainer course..which was the 1st sort of flight simulator, the same thing as the CAE simulators that they use now to train pilots. Plus then training was easily available, a course for a private instrument flight license was about $350.00.....i should have been smarter and got my license...First picture ever taken of the aircraft I fly, in France... as I'm ferrying it to the US.
P.S. Carlos Nakai = great Native American flute music
$350!!!? Wow... If I hadn't worked my way up to my ratings just by flying and instead paid for everything, I can imagine I'd be about 30-40k in the hole. That's amazing man, I'll have to tell that to a few pilots I know who're complaining about training costs. There's still time, you can always get your license... and for those who don't want to fly fast and high, there's the sport license which pretty much insures that with a drivers license, you can also be a pilot. Check it out.a course for a private instrument flight license was about $350.00.....i should have been smarter and got my license...
