My last trip to the dollar store resulted in spending $50 on shit i wouldn't have normally bought but i was thinking of the homeless and what they said they needed. i then delivered my haul to them and by golly, they coulda cared less where it came from.

GREAT resource for helping the less fortunate imo.

You have to be careful though, as most of that comes from China. Like the candles, the wicks are likely high in lead. Dog toys and treats, not safe for dogs. How do you beat the batteries? Last week I was buying 12 packs of AAA for $1. Alkalines are pretty much the same.

Definitely have to watch what you're buying.

Fuck.. batteries are so expensive. We have a battery charger but sometimes it just can't keep up lol or you just need a certain amount of fresh AAs and all you have in there is a few AAA's and a random D you kept around for a science experiment. 12 pack for little moneys? WHAT U SAY?!!!!

I really hate when they overcharge for batteries. cn :eyesmoke:
Mt PERSONAL experience with batts at the dollar store is that they are knock-offs that won't last or nearly expired name-brands, that rarely last. Guess it depends on what i want to power. The tv remote works fine on them. i wouldn't trust my life on them though.

I've had mixe experiences.

Some brands have bee completely useless, yet some I've been shocked and confused at how long they are still going... longer than ones I paid 10x as much for at the electrical store. You are right, though, be careful, I have bought a completely useless pack or two, but then again, they were cheap so it didn't matter quite as much. But of course, don't bet your life on it.

When going into a situation in which my or my son's safety relies on a powered device, i check, re-check and then triple check all batteries. It's kinda a redundant redundancy but i'm a little ocd lol.

I always get stuff like foil, trash bags, kitchen stuff, and gift bags from the dollar store.
Exactly.

If i can find something to get the job done inexpensively when nothing of any real gravity depends on it, the dollar store is my first stop to see if they've "got one/some".

EDIT: i don't get foil there. Scaredy cat.
