I'm with Lloyds now and they are NOT currently offering homeowners insurance in Canada for active MMJ grows. They did, and will again....IF Phelan sides with us.

Do they offer insurance to someone who want to grow tomatoes indoors, or is it just mj growers? That would be interesting. I got tenant insurance when I moved a few months ago...and it had a spot where I had to agree there was " No marijuana activity". WTF is that? My garden is at a different address, so it didn't matter, but isn't smoking a joint a 'marijuana activity'?

I would be happy with 6 plants in flower per person (and animals lol) per household, and double that in veg, so 18 in total per person per household, Also no more then 2000watts per person. This is for rec for med, you apply for a plant count like in MMAR, you get your plant count and your good.

You can get crop protection coverage on any crop in Canada including MJ but it has to be legal.

Yes, only LP's can get MMJ coverage ATM. As to the indoor tomatoes theory, tried it...not gonna fly. Sure, you could lie and say that your only growing veggies, but you're putting your dwelling on the line if you run into a loss. My Lloyds policy specificlly states "no MMJ cultivation", but medicating in the dwelling is fine. I guess some folks are comfortable with such a large risk, but my home is my retirement...so I'll just wait for Phelan to get off his ass. Tick, tock!

Your just legitimizing those wrongly perceived risks...You make growing cannabis sound dangerous. Your just helping the man take your garden away...if you had/have one?Not a insurance seller, just a victim of not reading the fine print!
The insurance Industry may not know about growing cannabis perse, but they do know how to identify perceived risks that go with cannabis growing.
And, before ya'll go off on "it's just a plant like any other houseplant "...we all know that's not true. Lets be honest, not too many house plants require multiple HID lighting (risk electrical), or boring holes thru foundations for intake/exhaust (risk structural), or running 100's of gallons of water in Hydro setups (risk flood, mold).
If ya'll don't think the Insurance Industry is gonna be involved in homegrows, you're all sadly mistaken.
Holes get drilled in or through foundations every day. But considering most of the foundation is bellow ground, its not the first place your going to make a hole for ventilation. Thats something someone looking to steal power would do. That same person probably doesnt care about mold either.

How am I legitimizing the risks? I don't perceive them, the insurance industry does. Have you tried to get homeowners insurance lately with a MMAR grow? Have at dude, you'll won't find ANY coverage!! Even for a "former" MMJ grow, Lloyds is the only coverage in Canada for former MMAR grows. Even then it has to be $500k min risk to qualify for the policy.
And yes, I have grown indoors and out for 3+ decades, what has that got to do with anything? Do you think I've enjoyed looking at this since April of this year?

If you were growing tomatoes in that room, would you need to tell your insurance company about it? Would they see that as the same level of risk? well Im sure if you did tell them you were growing tomatoes, your rates would go up. But because tomatoes are legal....the perceived risk is much less while the actual risk is no different.

Did you have an electrician in to get a signature for mmar paperwork?
If that op has been signed off and approved by a licenced professional than I think that would minimize or negate all of your fears if anything bad were to happen.
If you had a fire because of the room then he's responsible and if it were a legal situation he is proof you did everything right.

Yes signed off by all legit contractored professionals. But, it still oesn't matter...Insurance say no MMJ cultivation as Mar 14/2014. Lloyds has been provided all contractor docs, and have Broker personally inspected and took dozens of pics. Still no go until Phelan decision. I have been advised by my broker that all existing Lloyds policies policies have been getting renewed until a final decision...everyone else if fukd til then.

Not string dumbass, proper ratchet adjustable hood hangers...lol! Each one is rated for 75lbs. Two hangers on each 50lb hood, over kill I know...that's how I roll. Again do some fukin research on growing cannabis before flapping your yip about shit you have no idea about. Your nothing but a "wannabe troll", with still a lot to learn in that department.
