Legal Weed is destroying Cannabis Genetics

Been going to medical marijuana dispensaries in many states for about 20 years. A lot of the good strains are disappearing because they are hard to grow and yield less, which is not good on a industrial scale. Almost are strains have become 7 types of weed with 1,000 different names from coast to coast. Most states 99% of us cannot afford a license to grow marijuana, so we have to go to the company store with there prices for what is becoming average product. I’ve bought things that say 33%THC and it’s garbage. They don’t cure right, it’s always dry. Yes there is some places where they got fire, done right and a decent price. That is extremely rare however, and I can’t be the only one noticing these things. Any growers or breeders got any opinions?

I grow for me.. Don't care what they say, Me and thousands of members here can and do grow shit that would make dispensaries weep. I won't think twice of running a modest producing set of premium plants. But, I have no overhead or regulators and tax collectors on my ass. That is why it is up to us who can, to preserve the best strains and carefully create new ones. Quality always trumps quantity, Peace

The whole reason I started growing was because I was super disappointed with the quality @ my local dispo. I would get home and open the sealed container only to find 35%rH cannabis which is unacceptable. The best thing I ever got from the dispensary was that GG4 bag seed that started it all for me & the rest is history :hump: I live in IL WHERE YOU DO NEED A LICENSE TO GROW even through it’s legal for med & Rec. got tired of playing rock, paper, scissors to see if this time would be good or bad :wall: Don’t get me wrong I still make the occasional trip, but that is for extracts.:weed:

Also I am noticing it’s getting harder to get pure sativa’s... which is bullshit because I bet if it took Phizer 1 year to make a super strength Viagra you wouldn’t see less of it on the shelf, it would just cost more. Why can’t dispensaries see this and just tax pure sativa’s more? Medicine is medicine.

If dispensaries weed strains don't cut it for you. Than think about growing your own plants... You are Bitching about store bought weed, on a Cannabis Growing website.. Grow Your Own!

This thread is so fucking dumb.

You don't need a license to grow weed if you're in a legal state. You just grow whatever you want within your states limits. It's not rocket surgery.

There are more strains now than ever before. You're an idiot.
HEY! If I want to do some rocket surgery I'll do it! Don't knock it till u try it :eyesmoke:

Only 4 states have personal limits, obviously your ok. Good for you. This post is about more than you. You shouldn’t use name calling as your argument, especially when you don’t understand the ?

I don't believe this will happen pre legalization, most players are still busy looking over both shoulders. For now, I'll be satisfied with the fast Sativas I find.

You need a license to grow in IL even though it’s legal for med & rec.

only California, Colorado, Michigan, and Vermont allow personal grow with no license, and there’s more than 30 with legal marijuana.

The same 7 strains isnt exactly the same seven strains. How many different breeders have their own "sour diesel"? Or "skunk", or "gelato"? Those three alone have seven different varieties if you do some serious seed shopping

The variety is less, and sour diesel is one of the reasons I’m making this post. I haven’t seen that strain available for almost 5 years. I see people naming things sour diesel sometimes, but it’s not.

Illinois would make you get a permit to take a shit, if they could get away with it. Somehow it seems you are still holding out, c'mon just pay more taxes:o.

What you might be seeing is novices getting into it but not having the chops yet.
