ya know ...I see it in the ads ALL the time..."how can plants possibly get what they need, with light designed for human night vision...I frickin agree...I have an 11 band a 7 and a 6 band...and you can not only see the different bands, when you shine a white light on them, they look a beautiful green...all my grows happens under L.E.D.'s.....240w for clones...and cupped plants....300w for primary veg...600w for flower....I have done EVERY light combo possible...cfl's...t-8s t-5s...hp/mps...my biggest problem...get this...I live in a condo in the central desert of az...H E A T.....no attic...venting is a fuggin nightmare(especially at harvest)with ballasted lights, sometimes my room would be 105 when I walked in,in the mornings...was getting 300$ elec bills(ouch)....even now..im topping 91....L/E.D.'s were my last, but hopefully my best choice....next I see in the future...a laser striking a slowly revolving, horizontal prism....

LEDs definitely rule for those in non-optimal heat situations -- but T5s should be fine for heat too... just curious why you went away from the t5s since some people really like'm. I have some t8 UV lights i'm gonna be hanging up later today but want to add some t5 side lighting.

with me(in the desert)...its always a heat thing....no matter what I do .I get a constant build-up....according to all my electronic temp reading junk.... LED's,so far, have been the most"compliant"...after I sold all my other lights, all I have left is a 6 inch draw fan(for which,im buying a speed controller, and venting thru the dryer vent)well those are my intentions anyway....my little 100$ HD a/c(for flower) puts out way WAY more heat ,than all three of my lights put together, with my 600w flower,i don't even need to vent...its a constant 74-75 degrees....I do vent the 300w veg chamber, for air circulation purposes only, not so much for cooling....and the 240w...pffft....not even worth mentioning...3 inches away from light ...ambient room temp...going on my third year of tweaking this set-up.(much to the annoyance of Mrs Grorilla)..someday....SOMEDAY...i'll be done.....tho I doubt its gonna be in this lifetime )

Hi i was wondering how close you guys keep your panels to your plants? I have read a little bit about the panels bleaching plants if the get to close and as i'm using a bonsaihero panel if i was to go with the "as close as you can get without toasting the plants" i'd have the plants within a couple of inches.

It depends on the plant, some can grow right up to the light with no problems. I find about 18" is optimal for veg and 6-8" for flower.

ya know...my smaller panels have a larger concentrated area(4x4+) than my big panel...2x3..and that blows...my chambers are 4x4...I just raise it to 2 ft. above..and its close

Very nice for a couple of 90s... though she could've gone quite a bit longer IMO at least 2 more weeks before she's really done if you weren't cutting it early intentionally you're giving up yield. Looks great though! :)

Haha yeah 3 of those are veg they are going to come out along with the one big CFL and get replaced by a 600w HPS shortly for a side by side comparison of 600w vs 240ws. Next run after this the 600w HPS either gets replaced with a 1K HPS or a California Lightworks 800w depending on how the side by side goes. The nice thing about the 240ws in the setup I have is that you can add more over time as you have the extra $$ :) I'm probably going to get another bloom & veg of the 240ws fairly soon as well to round out the collection since I've got an odd # of both types.

I'm excited to see how the 600w v blackstars run goes. I've grown under 600w HPS before and I never got as good of yields as I do now under my LEDs but that was a long time back too wasn't using the same methods. I think they will produce pretty similar results.

I just actually paid attention to your avatar for the first time... what about bob is one of my top favorite movies of all time... right up there... i watched it tripping acid one time it was spectacular... one of dreyfuss' more enjoyable movies for me for sure as i sometimes find him annoying... always love bill murray in almost anything

Yeah most people think I'm just an ill tempered old cock sucker.
I'm the same, Bill Murray is awesome in anything he does, but Bob Wiley is my favorite.
Dreyfuss was OK in American Graffiti, most everything else he was in I didn't like anyways.

Yeah the only other movies I don't find him too annoying in are Jaws and close encounters... both classics in their own rights. Most annoying movie (that i can think of off the top of my head, i'm sure there's others) -- mr holland's opus. Actually there's a couple other dreyfuss movies that aren't too bad, but he is one dude that can definitely rub you the wrong way :)

I feel good! I feel great! I feel wonderful!
