Anyone familiar with
lighthouse's 270w blackstar chrome?
Seems like a new version for 2013 (didn't realize the world of led's worked like the automotive world, releasing model years a year ahead
)? Some of their sales speak scares me a little, they mention with their new diodes, chipset, and lenses that this new light could be too intense for some strains. Are they just trying to big up their light, or are they just trying to inform their customers?
I'm a newbie grower and have been getting by with the clever placement of cfl's but think a very efficient led light would really help me out for flowering. Unfortunately, the cost of even the blackstar is a little prohibitive for me right now (this could be the straw that broke the camels back w the old lady!), but if I was absolutely certain with its efficacy, I just might risk it!
What strains, in your opinion and or experience could withstand very intense led light? Do I want to be limited like that? Would I have to pass up on certain strains only because they won't work under high intensity LEDs?
Thanks people, I'm having the time of my life.
