Led Users Unite!

wow. I was considering trying LED's but i didn't think the price would be that high. Is there a tutorial to build a DIY? I looked on youtube and there's several crappy ones but nothing about building a serious grow light. I've got a little experience with electrical so thought I would try to build one in my spare time. Where can I buy bulk 3W LED's with the correct wavelengths? Or am I just dreaming too much now?

Not sure how much you guys pay attention to the whole Magnum LED drama but for those who haven't, allow me to shed some light on this company:

Apparently this company put's together fake grow journals to sell their lights and work with certain forums to create fake hype and comments regarding these panels. I have without a doubt seen proof of this shady behavior. Basically you can't trust a single grow journal because of the amount of shady thats going on.

I'm not going to get into exact details because my goal is to shed light on a major issue with a company that goes to the absolute extreme amount of corruption to sell their product.

Regardless if that Magnum LED is good or not...stay away don't support this kind of crap. I would link to pages that fill you in but many of the posts have been removed because a certain LED forum is in on it and it's owner has been banned on other sites. The rabbit hole runs deep with this one so cancel out any grow journal from your mind regarding this light because it has most likely been doctored to deceive you.

I have 2 electrical engineers on hand and we looked into the possibility on developing a grow light and I will tell you that unless you have access to lots of money or fabrication equipment, your better off just buying one that is out on the market. The R&D alone will set you back a year unless you just copy an existing panel, but at that point it will be cheaper to just buy the panel your trying to copy.

I was interested in developing a panel that uses 5w diodes spaced 2" apart so you have the coverage to match the large wattage but we don't have a dumpster filled with cash so it's just on paper for now.

Aren't those the same as the Isis? I'm kinda new to LEDs, and only been using them for about 8 months. I have seen a lot of shady LED business out there already.

I'm happy with the ones I have, which aren't Isis.

Yes 357 magnum is using Irishboy's name to try and sell there products because they know irishboy is the grandmaster of all led growers right now. I have a feeling ledbudguy.com, 357 magnum led.com, and irishboyled.com are all operated by the same dude. Irishboy went on ledbudguy.com and confronted ledbudguy also knows as ledgrowshow on here and he keeps deleting his posts. But regardless of all that when I was shopping for lights the 357 magnum out of the question for me it's only got 180 watts of actual power draw, they dont spec the angle of the lenses or all of the supposed 11 spectrum's it has and all for $750 bucks. I went with the blackstars because they do give you all the specs, it draws 300 watts and cost $150 less then a 357 and Is 2x more powerful.

No probs, how many plants and how many panels covering how much space?

10 fimmed plants in a 4x8 with a pair of 360s which I now see would cover 4x4 great. In reality I have been set up for the ochos and growing trees staggered perpetual so all the trees are not out yet. IM now vegging to a foot and flowering so maybe the low profile will help out with a sog. Maybe three of the panels running that style would cover the 4x8?

yep, my post got deleted from ledbudguy as well. All those sites are related, regardless of LBG explanation that Grow Perfect gave him the server and he doesn't work for them. It could be true and the lights (ISIS + Mag357) could work well, but the marketing campaign is shady for sure.

I probably will abandon that site since I thought it was a good led only fourm. I guess I will have to start one up one here but I dont want to get into a pissing match with some hid guy that has his panties in a bunch about led's. I dont care about hid vs led or watts/grams all I care about is good medicine that's it.

Oh and another thing you have to wonder about ledgrowshow or ledbudguy or who ever this dude is. I mena hes got 12 magnums in his room thats about a $9000 purchase right there. Hmm you have to wonder does he own 357 magnum too? I mean come on who is going to throw down almost 10 grand on lights that I havent seen a decent grow out of.

I looked at the name servers, ledbudguy.com = NS.BCBUDBOX.NET, and NS1.BCBUDBOX.NET, irishboyled.com = NS.LEDGROWSHOW.COM, and NS1.LEDGROWSHOW.COM, then 357MAGNUMLED.COM = NS.LEDGROWSHOW.COM, and NS1.LEDGROWSHOW.COM

All 3 are registered with godaddy.com, but most people do register there.

I have seen ledbudguy spamming on a lot of forums.

Splurged for private registration for one.....

The link is BCBUDBOX. Google this and you will find that this is a Grow Perfect product. Ledgrowshow is the handle LBG uses here and over at THCfarmer, I believe. Regardless, LBG does not deny that the servers of all these sites belong to Grow Perfect. He does deny being on their payroll, however. It could be true, we'll never know. The bottom line is that ledbudguy.com server is owned by Grow Perfect, so it can be controlled by them in theory.

I understand the economy is rough right now, but lying to people so they buy your products is unethical, and wont take long before they get exposed. Which is looking like what is happening right now.

Do they always go by the same user name on all the sites they sign up on?

Post your grow on bubbleponics then, if you don't like this place. Really nice, knowledgeable crowd over there. Plus they have like 10 separate GLH Spectra journals and Mike from GLH is on the board as well.

Good find, I think you hit the nail on the head and we shouldn't give any grow data to a forum owned by an LED company.
