youre getting ripped off by advertising bands lol only 4 visible ranges are optimal and theres no proof that ir or uv has any major benefit just so called 'experiments' that are not double blind and thus untrustable

Are you serious? Have you looked at the PAR spectrum curve? Yes there are four "peaks" but there is plenty of other spectrum with chlorophyl response. What about Pytochromes, those don't count? Try flowering without farred/IR without the appropriate stress response flowering will take longer and not be as vigorous. No UV? Good luck containing every spore of mould that gets into your grow room.

327w is too little for that money, you could get a 450w Spectra for $1300 or less and its probably a better light in every way (also good 5 year warranty). Oops, of those 2 you suggessted I would go with neither. 1w diodes are weak, and the other light charges atleast $500 more than its really worth. If your set up is large enough I would go with 3-4 180w Spectras or 2 280w Spectras, but if your space is less than 4x4 I'd settle for the 450w (I'm rocking a 450w Spectra in my 2.5ftx2.5ft tent and its awesome). growledhydro.com is a bit outdated, but the pricing and watt ratings are correct. Pictures are out of date, here is they're basic look.

Ok is what my 395w Spectra looks like

If not spectras I would personally have gone Kessil or Blackstar (Blackstar is to McDonalds as Spectra is to RedRobins, Kessils would be... hmm I dunno lol)
I used to think Spectra was a decent company with great bang for the buck based on their advertised actual draw but their claims don't make any sense. Their 300 model Draws 360 watts but only draws 2.4 amps at 110 volts according to their own website. Quick math 110 x 2.4 and you get 264 watts, that's no where near the 360 watts they claim so WTF.

At this point seems like none of the manufacturers have reliable information and the only thing to trust is results.

Spectra has been proven by Irishboy and he's gotten decent results at 548 grams from 600 watts actual draw (that was the claim with their old 600 panel).
ISIS has been proven by LedBudGuy and he got 762 grams off 600 watts actual draw running ISIS (5 ISIS at 120 watts actual draw claimed).

At this point unless a manufacturer can point you to a journal showing their lights producing real life results you have to wonder if the hype will actually grow much :-)

UV is one the most important components that brings on Trichrome production. Yeah, there are 4 visible light ranges, UV and IR are invisible however, and they are VERY important to a plant.

hey you crazy LED growers I think I may join your nutty club here haha .. I am comparing HPS to the HydroHuts 600w equiv. . I will be growing in about a ~4x4 area and planning to scrog maybe 1 or 2 plants and was hoping to get some advice from you guys who have grown scrog and/or LED in similar places. Thanks.
It would probably be more efficient to go with 4 plants for a 4x4 area

I've got two over a 4x4 area. I actually planned on covering a 4x6 area with two so it's a bit overkill but I'm happy with the results so far. Check out my grow in my sig. Two weeks to go :-)

this what i like about egl i can call them or hit them up on im and they can explain things they just sent me this in response to your statement http://tinypic.com/r/2r5gleg/7 they say thats their research facility in uk look at that got some carpets growing doesn't need light at all they also say they pytochromes don't count because those are primarily restricted to underwater plants not plants on land because of how water filters out light the underwater plants need pytochromes even said they tested out a quad band plus ir designed to same spec as their triband and got no difference in growth entire way through, flowering set at the same time and finiihed same time these people are pros

Growth rate and trichrome production are two different things

ive decided that my next grow will be 6 autoflower plants in 3 gallon smart pots under 3 240w blackstars so that we can put this to rest once and for all. I just got my seed order in and its FAT.

Im starting to wonder what would happen if one had 2 flowering models and 1 Veg model going at once.

ALLLLL RIGHTTTTTT!@!@!!!! im sick of all these scams and sellers not telling the full truth about their lights or not enough truth. Can't wait to see how this one weighs in. Those are the Stealth Grow 602's right? 700 actual watts of LED over a 4x4 area. Now that's some power. I figure I got about 12 days to go with 360 actual watts over 4x4 so will make for an interesting comparison.
i dont think its gonna weigh that much. in the beginning the lights were too close and the plants didnt grow that tall..i'll be lucky to pull 7g off each plant...that will barely put me at a 1/2 lb. This wasnt my grow from start to finish..I acquired it for some debt that was owed to me. The next grow i do will be a lot better, and i hope the yield will reflect the new changes.

and yes i believe they are the 602s..i'll check when i go over to the house later today.

You might as well just go with a 240w. Better for the money.

I have 2 of the 240w veg ones. They are 6 band also but they dont have as much red as the flower model. I'll probably buy a couple of the flower ones pretty soon.

ok so i think i've decided to grow with LEDs .. because the last time I grew the technology of LEDs were "junk" .. but I can see they have greatly improved. But now i am in the situation of what one to buy!
