As soon as the pistols started appearing with increasing number I selected a small shoot about midway up and pollenated it.

The reason for selecting a smaller shoot is that if I had chosen one higher up, the airflow could have pollenated some of my main colas which is not kosher with me

Another is that, seed development does not need an intense amount of light as in reality they simply need to mature rather than flourish in the light.

Yeah. I intended to pollinate a lower site and then lightly mist her to "keep down" any excess pollen etc. I know male plants once identified don't need much light at all for pollen development, like a 23w cfl would be fine, But I didn't know that about seed development. Good info. thanks man.

I would say do it about 3 weeks into flowering. It takes roughly a month in my experience for seeds to mature but much like bud they will let you know when they are ready, the calyxes will split and the seeds will become visible.

Keep in mind, as long as you have white pistols out you can still pollenate and it is always an option to simply leave the shoot on the plant with a few fan leaves until it matures if your plant is finished flowering before the seeds are mature.

I didn't even think about leaving the shoot after harvest with some bud leaves to fully mature if needed.

Quick Update: Just checked and both girls are finally showing pistils. #2 has pistils at all 6 budsites.

Quick update, I am down to 2 plants, I lost my bag seed #1 and my mystery seed has sprouted pistols. Now if my pineapple chunk will just come around and do the same thing I'll be like Amaximus and doing the Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy dance...lmao!

I gotta say, the winner of this competition truly deserve a big prize!! I suck at feeding my party cups, is all I got to say

I was so excited to post this update to show off my girls new pistils, So you know what happened right?

I lifted up the cup and smashed the top against the led panel and snapped it. Hooray!

It might not be a bad thing as this fucking Super Haze grew another 11 inches since last week and is starting to become a height problem.

So here we are Week 8!

Super Haze: Another week another eleven inches taller. 39" total (or would be if it didn't snap). Bitch is top heavy like a fuck now...


Bagseed #2: So glad #2 turned out to be female and has made it this far. Four main colas & two smaller colas, reaching for the stars!


Things are getting interesting now... I'm watering these bitches twice a day. By the time I wake up the next morning they're all limp and thirsty. Think I might devise a drip system or something...

whatever you do its working damn well!! mine were doing well when I first started feeding them and I over did it and now its been more than a week the soil barely dries and they are not doing well at all. I was always leaving them sitting in the runoff, I am gonna stop doing that. Yours look stellar... the superhaze, holly mmamma she's tall and strong! well done buddy keep up the good work

I think your bag seed #2 will be the heaviest,... looking at the pics again, man I cant believe they are in 16oz containers!! looking forward for the other guys update, but Puffenuff, it's not going to be easy if Amax keep feeding this well!

They look great amaximus! Holy crap that one is super tall! And the other is nice and bushy. I wish I had more than one entry in the competition because I would have liked to try topping one. Good luck the rest of the way, my update will be up later on today.

Lookin mighty fine Amaximus, sorry to see you bent your lady unexpectedly. My bag seed #1 that died reached 32" before she bent and broke about 3" above the dirt. But before that I guess I over fed her and the others, it's been hell trying to flush them out and revive them but they are still goin strong. Pic's this evening.

What are we on now 8 weeks? Damn how time flies. Ok, so I lost my Bag Seed #1 and my 2 reaining plants have to pull this out for me.

So the taller of the 2 plants is my Pineapple Chunk, I've spread the tops out on both hope'n it helps.

Damn Puff, I feel so embarrassed when I look at your plant and back at mine each week. You have got one hell of a light setup or your plant strain is really suited for 12/12. But then when I see everyone elses plants I feel out of place with my tiny ass 135 BS.

Thanks End... I started low with my nutes and still started to burn my girls a bit. I ended up giving them a flush a few days ago and have been going water, water, feed @ 1/4 strength twice a day. I know a bunch of people let their plants stand in the runoff but I bought grills to place all my containers on and I let it drain right through to the bottom of the tent. I just don't like them sitting in standing water. Especially run off. It's weird, They;re big girls in little containers but act like finicky seedlings.

Thank you puff. I can;'t believe how tall that girl is getting either. Lets hope it translates into some weight, I think she looks a little scraggly. Hopefully she'll fill out before she tumbles over. lol. One of the main reasons i entered three was because I wanted one with a single cola, one topped once and I wanted one topped multiple times (#2, mail-liner). Unfortunately both topped ones turned out to be the males. Next time around I think we're gonna have some heavy hitters entering the competition. This one isn't over and I cannot wait for the next to start. lol.

Thanks TX! So that is what happened to your other girl, she snapped. I was wondering... It seems we're all hitting the "overfeed" button. Once flushed they should recover well, it is what I did. See just above this for my feeding sched. it's what has been working for me so far.

PS - The bent one seems to be recovering well. She is already bending up towards the panel...

to be honest, its more about the feeding schedule, well it's pretty much all about feeding!! My plants are small too and looking at the plants around the partycups I can guarantee you it's not the light

Also Puff's seed was on drug or something, she matured way faster, if you take care of yours perfectly you could still grow big nice buds, dont give up!! I still got 30-40 days to go and I changed a few things that hopefully will help me bring my cups back to health (twice a day small feed instead of letting them sit with wet feet). But yeah Txchillies dont be embarassed, you should have seen my first party cup!! it's just really hard to grow in 16oz or else more people would be doing it.

I agree that the BS 135 is not the greatest light ( I got the 240 and its really hit and miss with it, well I hit once, a decent plant... ) I guess one more reason for you not to give up! would be nice to add a little AF-150 to your setup wouldnt it!!!

Your girls look like a fun-house mirror image of my two remaining girls. You got a tall girl and a fat little bushy bitch as well. They look great man. Maybe a tiny bit of nute burn but the lower leaves look better than my yellow nitrogen starved leaves. hah!

^^^^^Embarrassed... Yeah.That sounds about right... maybe Amazed as well. lol. Whats that BS135 draw anyway? I'm running these girls with the BS180 and this silly thing only draws 105 watts. Yeah, We need better leds. lol.
