Sweet! I always love finding things I thought I had lost. Hope it helps your grow as well.I Found my KoolBloom. when i was goin through a box today. THat was right on time.
actually i am suppose to put them on 20/4 all the way through. but i have been screwin with the light schedual tryin to make i hermie. i want more auto flower seeds.Ah, ok. I don't know anything about how the autos work. They just stay on 18/6 all the way through?
My only advice would be make sure the lights are no more than 12" for the tops of the plants. Best of luck!Really nice topic here. Informative and lots of plant pr0n pics.
Starting my own LED/CFL grow, just on day 2 after planting the germed seeds, got 3 out of 4 showing already. Was a bit worried about the LED/CFl mix but after reading this i'm a lot more confident that i'll get a toke in about 10 weeks from now! _
Well, that is difficult to say for sure. I deally I think you will want to have your cfl's indepenant of any mounting as it relates to the LED's. I say this because they are not as bright and need to be closer to the plants. Some type of vertical setup on the sides of the plant would work best IMO. My cab is pretty small, so it is hard to do all that I want to and still have room for the number of plants that I have. I use the floodlight cfl to try and get a better cone of light focused on the plants since mine are mounted on either side of my LED fixture. I plan to change that setup for the next grow and will show the current positioning as well as the new one when I do the update. As far as wiring, I am not much help I'm sure. I ran 2 lead wiring in series to a regular light socket that you can get from Home Depot. I then wired that to an appliance cord and plugged it into an outlet. The LED has it's own cord an I plug that and the CFL cord into a timer to keep them in sync. What i am really struggling with is coming up with how to put the lights together, i've been crawling about the grow journals hoping to find some idea's with wiring diagrams, that kinda thing. Thats how i've found your topic. I've really enjoyed reading it so +rep
I don't know much about the wiring but i am generally handy and have a rough idea but i would prefer to be running off some kinda howto so i dont go tripping the house electrics or causing a fire hazard.
I have 2 45w Led panels mixed with red's n blues. I have 6 23w veg and 6 23w flowering CFL's. to cover approx 1sq metre. I havent decided on a tent grow or a cabinet grow, but i have a walk in cupboard 5 foot tall, 3.5 foot x 3.5 foot area for it to go in so i'm limited in tent sizes. i dont want to light the whole cupboard so i am opting for a home made box or a small growtent.
I want to have 2 height adjustable light panels, I'm using short stuff femmed auto ONYX. max 90cm . 9 week seed to harvest so i am going to try for a perpetual 9-10 week grow.
When it's all going it should be 4 flowing plants under the flowering panel with 1 led, 2 blue and 4 red cfl's, then 5 plants under the other led with 4 blue and 2 red cfl's. planting a couple of seeds a week and when sex shows around weeks 2 re-pot strongest female. so under the veg lights should be 3 spindly plants and a couple of seedlings.
So in your experienced opinion of CFl's. when mounting them onto the panel hoding the LED panel, how should i arrange them? Should i have the dangling lampholders so they hang down in between the top colas or should i have them horizontal with a reflector above them? The Led panel is 30cm x 30cm x 4cm thick.
I aint asking for a wiring diagram but if wanna help point a stoner in the right direction would you be able to point me at a howto on setting up each panel to run from just one main wall plug? I've never wired a junction box before.
Helps lots mate, a plan is forming. No home depot in the UK but similar stores. So the plan wil be to rig up each CFl as an independent plugged and wired lamp that can be hung vertically down beside the plants with the LED's mounted separately.Well, that is difficult to say for sure. I deally I think you will want to have your cfl's indepenant of any mounting as it relates to the LED's. I say this because they are not as bright and need to be closer to the plants. Hope that helps!
Thanks for stopping in and honoring me with your first post!I like your progress for a cabinet grow. Can't wait to see your yield. I think you could maximize your space and lighting situation if you used a scrog net next time with your grow, that way you could distribute the canopy equally across all the lights. rather than having them growing directly into your CFL's and minimizing the LED exposure for the top of some of your plants. Just my thoughts though; and I admittedly have far more hours of study under my belt than growing. Keep up the good work though! Final shots are looking tasty.
