Right, I can only imagine having to take care of only 1 plant. I have at the moment 1 femd Jack herrer from greenhouse seeds in a waterfarm bucket setup. Its a seedling, 6 days of out sprout but im vegging her for 6 weeks. Maybe then I might have a monster plant. Until then, my canopy is pretty open in my tent with 12 females from seed. I guess for the moment I like having more than one strain. Got 5 different strains going that are all time favorites of mine :)
That's sweet! I'm trying to get rid of a few that are more average while keeping my fav's going too. I have a bunch of shit I'm excited to do so I need to replace some strains currently.

Lights just came on a bit ago. I started spreading the canopy through the screen as the lights came on. Its strange when they kick on because they hit full intensity nearly instantly, compared to HID which is what I'm used to. For less than 7 days in the tent I must say I am highly impressed with these lights. I can clearly see they they are capable of rapid vegetative growth. I will try to grab some pics in the morning before the lights go out. Have a good weekend everyone.

Nice dude I'm flowering some right on a commerical bought LED not overly impressed with Building my own at the momemt for flowering. This 700 buck crap has so many added colors it doesn't need. I built my Blue veg light and they kickass.

How in the world did you build your led? How much was it?

its actually not rocket science but a really expensive fail if you fuck it up, especially when it comes to tuning the intensity of the diodes. If they're tuned too high you burn them out quickly. Also having a quality heat sink is very important. I looked into it and ultimately decided to buy some brand name lights and wait a couple years till I can get the materials a bit cheaper before I start playing mad scientist with my own rig.

Time is money, and I don't have time for that shit lol. I only have time for a couple of hobbies and growing dank already consumes waaaaay more time than it probably should. Thankfully I enjoy it thoroughly.

Hey Stoney, I lowered the lights and she was a bit stressed. I raised them back up a nice amount since I had to leave town for a couple days. Haven't seen her since Saturday morning when she was showing signs of a bit of stress. Hoping she is looking good when she kicks on tonight, she is probably ready for some food and I expect the screen will be full.

once mine were fried ( i didn't catch mine in time) the only thing that got them back to normal was feeding... and i fed them a lot!! not all at one time but a steady dose of food for a couple weeks till they got better!!!

one thing that MIke told me was, he had to feed his plants way more than he did with HID. i think he said 30% more..... I didn't go up that much but i do feed them way more than before... i just do 1/2 dose for a few times in a row before giving water. it seems to be doing well for me!!!

keep us posted on when ya see her!!!! keep up the great work and the close eye!!!!!

Thankfully they weren't stressed very badly. It seemed to raise the temps a bit more than I liked so I cautioned on the safe side and raised them back up for now. Will probably drop them back down tonight assuming they look ok. Thanks Stoney, I will update tomorrow morning with a couple pics.

A bit of bad news. She got pretty dry when I was out of town :( I've stressed her pretty severely. Gave her a heavy feeding and hoping she will look a lot better in the morning. I am optimistic she will bounce back but I've set her back dearly, I'm afraid. Should make pruning her a lot easier though. Really hated leaving town after a new setup like this, very disappointed in myself for not making sure she had what she needed. I am going to try to put in Co2 today, hoping that will help her recover.

don't worry bro... you can't change the past, so lets get her back in good shape!!! was she burned or just under watered? they are pretty resilient plants and can bounce back from a lot of stress!!!

She'll bounce back but it was a critical time to avoid costly mistakes. The screen would already be full if I wouldn't have goofed, now I need to rebuild a bit which I feel is going to cost me quite a bit of yield. No burn, although it did get warm in there. Mostly just damage from underwatering. Thankfully I stayed awake for lights on so I could administer feeding right away. She'll be ok, but I'm afraid I may have effected my yield significantly. I don't mind stressing them from underwatering in veg but the first week of flower is critical to push bud sites and bulk them up as much as possble for the stretch. She'll be ok I'm sure, looking much better.

Thanks for the encouragement Stoney, I will get pics soon. Loaned my camera to the GF, have a new one coming on Thursday. Got a new Panasonic GF3, pretty excited!

EDIT

Couple pics from my phone cam. Virtually no progress and a big step backwards :(

EDIT

I hooked up Co2 today, no problems bringing the PPM up to 1500. I have the feed going into 600 box and the meter outside. The ventilation changes the air inside about 3 x per minute going by the cfm. I'm thinking this is acceptable but I'm wondering if the levels might be too high with the line directed straight inside the box? Turned the fans down raise the temp inside a bit. The box is at about 73 right now and I'm watching what it does as well as monitoring my consumption. I'm curious how much Co2 the room will require per week/month.

Looking forward to seeing a bit of growth today on the scrog, I'm optimistic she will be going strong again by tomorrow. Will grab some more pics as soon as I can.

She will bounce back, I've been there and it does suck but it happens! at least you caught it in time like you said :) She still looks purdy under that led!!

She's coming slowly, still not back to where she was, but soon I hope. Not much action on flowers, she's just healing. Hope the Co2 helps speed up the process. I gave her a spike of 20/20/20 fertilizer last night to help her with her healing. Will probably amend the top of the bucket with some worm castings, I want to make sure she has N for healing up.

Hey swag! Two suggestions for you...
1. Great to hear you got co2! the best way to utilize co2 is to have it turn on only during lights on, and 15 minutes per hour for the 12 hours. Put the co2 on a timer, and on a second timer, put all of your fans.this way, every hour for 15 minutes your co2 is on, and the remainder 45 minutes co2 is off and your fans are on. Yes it's extra steps, but it is the best way to utilize co2.

2. You are fully fine to lower those lights. LEDs lose considerable amounts of light power with any distance over 12 inches. She looks like she is ready for some heavy lighting, so don't be afraid to experiment how close you can bring that light.

All ales, great to hear she is coming along very nice! Can't wait to see her in full recovery!

Hi Turtle thanks for the comments! Here is a bit about my setup so you better understand what I'm doing. I have a sealed (95%) room I do all of my growing in. Within the room I utilize several different boxes. 1 box for established clones and early vegging plants, 1 box for mature vegging plants, 1 box with a 600w HPS for flower and finally, 1 box with the 720w LED scrog. I am running the Co2 on a controller that engages when the ppm reaches 1200 and disengages when the levels reach 1500ppm. The feed goes into the box which turns air over 3 x per minute and equalizes the ambient co2 in the room. This is within the room that is home for all of my growing boxes. The reason I will run it this way 24 hours per day is because I have the timers for the photoperiod within my flowering boxes offset to reduce power consumption in terms of amp draw. The circuit cannot handle the draw simultaneously, so I had to offset them. Although the plants in the dark flowering box will not consume Co2, the levels will be held at the level that is optimum for their consumption when the lights turn back on.

The reason I have the lights as high as I do is for a couple of reasons. First the GLH lights do not function like many of the other lights out there. The 2011 models are known to have issues with excessive intensity causing plant stress. I purchased these lights understanding those issues and knowing that I would require vertical space to allow the plants adequate space between the lights and canopy. Once she heals a couple more days I will start to bring them down until she stresses again but now is not the time to burn them.

Feel free to make any suggestions at any time!

Hey shwagbag, wondering how the heat compares in the two boxes from the 600w hps vs the 720w of led?

The LED tent heats up pretty good depending where I have the lights. I will measure the light distance and tell you exactly what you're looking for in the morning.

For now, the 600 box has an air cooled hood and runs about 75F with the circ fan turned down a bit and the light at about 16" from the canopy. I use a 320CFM fan to filter that tent. I honestly need more light in there but it turns pretty decent buds. The LED tent is running around 86F at peak at a distance of about 28", one small fan under the canopy and a 200 CFM fan/filter combo for about the same cubic space, slightly less. From what I've read the warmer the better for Co2 so I don't have a problem with that. I think I could drop the temp down more with some circulation inside the tent if its needed. The tents running offset helps to reduce the overnight low temps at lights out so I definitely like that for the winter b/c I'm in a basement.

The 500 is going to put out some heat. How big of space do you plan to use and what kind of circ and filter fans do you have selected?

The Co2 is having no problems keeping the level at 1200-1500ppm. I'm really hoping to notice a difference with the Co2 within a week with my perpetual garden coming along.
