LED GLH Spectra 180 x 4 - 720 watt LED SCROG

I thought I would make another thread for my new adventure.... My first scrog attempt as well as my first grow with LED's. I am currently using 2 x 180w Spectra GLH LEDs to finish veg and I will add 2 more at the initiation of flower in a 48 x 48 x 78 tent for a total of 720 watts of Spectra LED's.

I haven't decided what nutes to use as of yet but the strain is Pure Power Plant in a 7 gallon container. She is sitting in expired super soil receiving 1/2 tsp of Jack's Classic 20/20/20 for feeding in veg on a as needed basis, usually every other feeding. Her root base should be well established and although I feel I should transplant before flower I am not going to do it. I hope it doesn't come back to bite me but I don't want to give up any more vertical space. It is likely that I will use Roots Organics Buddha Bloom in conjunction with select additives, subcultures, amendments, and solubles; no fancy feeding schedules or expensive nutrient lineups. Here are some shots of her as she sits. The last of the components will be arriving later this week and I would like to switch to flower within 14 days. I'm curious how the growth rate will go filling the screen since this is my first LED experience. Thanks to those that follow, please wish me luck!

Are you using LED's only? Any cfl for veg? just curious if a plant can be grow with leds only.
This plant was vegged for a long time under an 8 bulb 4' T5 fixture witha couple other monsters. LED's only for flower, yes sir. I have seen very good results with LED's through both veg and flower, the growers are here on rollitup too. These lights cover a much wider light spectrum than any HID unit. I am hoping 720 watts will be adequate to make some nice flowers.

lol nope, I scored it from The Home Depot. I looked at fencing and considering the quantity I needed and the fact that I needed a frame made it ideal. 43 bucks and no prep time. Time is money!

Teas are great but man do I hate dealing with liquid organic fertilizers. Part of the reason I switched to super soil for most of my other plants. The Buddha Bloom is a tea base so to speak, been using that for quite a while with good success in conjunction with some other nutrients. Bat guano, seaweed kelp, mollasses etc. found in ROBB. I've used it as a one part flowering fertilizer with only cal mag in flower and crushed. I recommend this fert for any and all beginners.

I like teas but they stink, they're messy and they take time. Considering adding some other Roots Organics products but I have comparable ones from other manu's to burn up. As much as I don't like working with these liquid organics I can't leave them behind! They're like my old standby and I just know the plants love them. Most likely going to use Buddha Bloom, added humic and fulvic acids, subcultures a & b and some fox farm solubles ( I need to use them up lol)

Thanks for stopping peeps, stay tuned.

that girl is a beast!! very cool ive been meaning to do a SCROG grow.. ill keep a close eye on this one.. as far as chem nutes i dont think Dyna Gro can be beat, some of the healthiest green plants ive grown with it and even in crazy 100F+ temps.

as far as organics its best to just make ur own teas, Humic, seaweed, guano's and earthworm castings are the best. Humboldt Honey Es is great stuff also! budswell makes a good tea to. bio ag has the best humic acid, maxicrop has the best seaweed.

nice plant! I wish you could say it was under LEDs the full vegging time! it doesnt matter that much to me though, I am commited as well! I gotta a few LEDs coming any day now for a tiny little dresser... I will be scrogging as well, I think that if I manage to setup all my ventilation and stuff below the screen, I will have almost 4 sq/ft of screen, but it will be very tight!! like, the screen 11 inches from the lights and the 2.5 inches from the top of my pots! (2 plants) anyway, I am looking forward to see your flowers!!! are you gonna setup a grow journal in the grow journal section or this is it!? Ill be following, good luck :leaf:

EDIT : I see this link is in your signature ... sub!

Yeah I will be using the Roots Organics Buddha Bloom for a base. Seaweed kelp, bat guano, earthworm castings, yucca extract at .25% humic acid from leonardite. A pretty good base without having to mix my own turds. What do you think about the light distance Irish?

I'm subbed, my next grow is gonna be GLH powered also. I'm going to be using a 500w, what size tent would you advise for it? I'm between a 4x4 and a 3x3, it'll be my first tent so not really sure what brand to look for either. Any advice you can provide is greatly appreciated. Going to be following this to give me a model to work with since I'd like to try a scrog as well.

Those 500w units are quite potent. I would def recommend a 4 x 4 for it. I would also recommend plenty of vertical height as I've read there are some issues with lumen intensity with those 500w units, make sure you have plenty of space to raise the lights above the plant canopy. In fact quite honestly in retrospect I would have used a 6 x 6 tent to allow room for working space and expansion. I have a friend running a 600 in a 6 x 6 which is plenty more space than he needs but its working well for him and allowing him plenty of space to work and potentially add light when he's ready. Also reduces heat buildup IMO, he's been running a 600 HPS without an air cooled hood with some very nice buds.... A 4 x 4 is ideal for a 500w I would think though if working space, available space or expansion potential don't necessarily rank on your priorities list.

Scored some Roots Organics Trinity today. mmmmmmmm. After thinking it over about the switch, I'm leaning towards switching her over tomorrow. I think the stretch will fill the screen as i start bobbing and weaving around. Don't have a lot of space to raise the screen as it is and I figure it will work out. Not positive yet but leaning that way!

Fed her last night with some Jack's 20/20/20, silica, cal mag and Thunder (humic/fulvic acid/silver/clay) with super thrive. Next feeding will be flowering nutes and microbes. She's going to be so happy I can't wait. PPP usually initiates flower like a rocket too, should see some early action.

Thank you, do you think 6.5' is going to be tall enough? The biggest I can fit is a 4x4 since it'll be in my bedroom, but I'll have access to it from two sides so should be okay working in and around it.

Should be as long as you keep your canopy as low as possible. I haven't used the 500's or the 290's and this is my first attempt with any LED at all. All I know is that there have been issues with some of these lights and it is required that they are run at a distance greater than what you would assume or expect. Start far away and move them in closer while watching for stress. Food for thought.

EDIT:

I added the other 2 lights, its a bit warm at the canopy, running 86F right now and I'm afraid it may be climbing. I may have to run 2 of them until the winter temps come along.

EDIT:

Temps are up to 90 at the canopy now and they appear to be holding steady. Going to upgrade my 200CFM fan to something more to try to stabilize the heat. For now I'm going to run with it and switch to flower tomorrow at noon. WEEEEE!

Awesome grow bro! I first experimented with a SCROG the first time I grew with LEDs. I am sure you will be happy with the results! I grew in a tiny growbox with a 300w LED and yielded 3.75 ounces in a 2 x2 x 2 area! Im inspired by your grow to do another SCROG after I am done with this harvest.

Thanks sleezy1  That's about the yield I'm looking for too :bigjoint: I wanted to veg for a bit longer on the screen but I just want to get the stretch over with and see where I end up. The screen has only been on top of her since Sunday morning, I supercropped the snot out of her and decided to scrog it after having nothing else to do with her lol. I appreciate the encouraging words!

Oh man putting the pressure on me huh?! lol Thanks for the kind words... I've grown PPP for several runs and I must say its still probably my absolute favorite. It seems to be bullet proof, quite simply the easiest and least picky strain I've grown with awesome yields and a powerful social buzz. Its a get shit done buzz for active smokers. I'm not a fan of smoking and sitting on my ass so for me its perfect. Great for smoking and gardening or working on projects.

Yep lol.. No problem, thanks for the info on the strain! I think I'm going to just go with like 3 strains from nirvana this time around, PPP, Bubblicious, ak-48 and maybe I'll pick up wonderwoman again or try there white widow. lol there's just to many I want to try from them! Anyway I'll be trolling in the backround, I did my first scrog earlier this year and it came out pretty amazing! Cant wait to see these LED buds start to form.

Do it dude, you will not be disappointed. I will dig up a couple pics from past grows. I did PPP on my first grow and had far more success than I ever expected. Since then I've learned that she loves super cropping and LST and her stretch is minimal. I think LBH does PPP from Nirvana in a scrog on RIU. A lot of people claim it lacks potency but I just love it.

Thats what I've heard about potency but as long as its pretty good bud and has good yields I'd like to give it a try!! I grew nirvana WonderWoman my First/second and third grow lol and If I still had a clone I would keep her going, I love nirvana strains so far!

i was hoping you saw this..... and what's up?? my led thread ain't the first? hahahahahaha
Lmao, you know I totally forgot that you where rockin LED stoney lol!! I guess the pressure is taken off of Swagbag cause you have proven that LED's can prduce some dank ass bud! It will definitely be interesting to see what kind of yield he will produce with that screen and amount of light still though!!
