the Schematics for the Fan Driver

only a idea!
change the position of the bucks, pot. makes wireing a little bit simpler
more distance (for better handling) between the XLR connector and the Pot.

That will do ....
Not today ..
Today is off and probably tomorrow also ....
I've to prepare a new grow ...

But I will prepare also the changes to our little wonder-box !

You need the "wired" edition( as is) to be uploaded ?
Or should upload the new one ?
Nevermind ...

( the present wiring is of ~1,25 mm Dia .=>~1,2 mm^2 ..
I just used standard sized 250 mm duct pipes ,tees and angled 'elbows' ,which I scale ( x 0,005 ) down to size of wiring ...
Good for making "wiring" ..."Autocentering & auto-locking functions between duct parts from
http://sketchup.engineeringtoolbox.com/hvac-elbows-to_18.html ....But it seems we need more thick wiring .... )

Question : When "analog Dimming " is at certain level ( i.e. 400mA ) ....
Then PWM digital dimming ,does work or no ?
What I 'm trying to say ...: Does the analog dimming has to be "switched off " for the digital to work ?
Or they work both at same time ?
If so .....Which one sets the upper limit -highest value ?
Both or one of them(the one having the lowest value or the highest ) ?

Do we need the dimmer pot to be also a switch "off" ,so for PWM dimming to work ,if needed so ?

the analog input sets the high level, the PWM signal works between zero and the given level at the analog input.
both can work at the same time.

thinking about to use the PWM input for switch out the leds if the fan failed.

the current from the XLR to the Bucks is less 2A. on this lenght(less then 20cm)0.5mm² is enough
for the rest, 5mA for the pot; 150mA for the fan, we need not more then 0.25mm². same for the led-modules.

Ok .I got it ...
So ..Analog Dimming Can act as a "harness " (analog pot as limiter ) to the PWM dimming ...

Fan also ( 4414 FL ) has PWM control ...(But you already knew that ..:-P )

I'm gathering the electronics to make a model of the needed pcb and parts ,of the fan powering unit ...
...
0.5 mm^2 ....~ 0.8 Dia of copper wire ...=>Cable Dia with insulation : ~ 2 mm for the model ..
0.25mm²....~ 0.6 mm dia of copper wire => ~ 1.6 mm Dia ... for the model

Reworked the drivers for better wiring modelling ..
driver reworked 2.jpgdriver reworked.jpg..
And ready to redesign electronics placing from scratch ....

Could not resist not being for once more inside the virtual workshop ...

Guod ...
I think Your idea was more than just "an idea " ....
...
Wiring ,becomes really neat and tidy ..
Power "bus" goes under drivers ,into fin channel ...
See how it goes ...

power bus on first fin channel.jpgpower bus 2mm dia ~3_14mm^2.jpgwiring x ray.jpginside lid closed.jpg
Any suggestions /comments /ect ?

( Why the heck ,didn't put the power bus on top and the analog dimming / V ref in the channel ?
Stupid .... Or turn the drivers upside-down ...Ohhhhhhh....Nooooooo....)

Listen ...( It was your idea,after all :-P ) ....
Any ideas how actually the wires should go ?

Bleach doesn't give off enough reds ...

Glass -cleaning liquid is far more better than bleach ....
And not in a bottle of coke ...
Plastic is too thick ,and you loose light ...
In a Gatorade bottle ,is like 100 Watts !!! ..

.....

:-P ....

Well ...
Wiring ...
Going slow ,have to wait for Guods advices ...
Better ..
It's the best led grow light in the world ,we're designing here ...
No need to rush ...

guod was right.jpgok adim is ok.jpgok adim is ok2.jpg..

What do you think this will cost you in total when completed ?

Hard to tell how much ....
Per panel ? (box ) ....
from 200€ up to 450€ ...
Μaybe I'm way wrong ..Guod has to tell his opinion about it ...
He knows more than me for the whole design and it's details ...

Nevertheless...

Cost is the last thing,to be taken under consideration ,at this project ...
