ok guys i know that 2700k should be used when in flower, but has anyone tried a 100w led @ 3000 - 3200k for it ? going to add a 6500k @ 100w also :) what you guys think ?

cheers m8 :) it also states 10000 lumens as appose to a 600w halo which is 90000 lumens ! so would i need 9 x 100w led @ 3000k to get equal lumens to the 600w halo ?

Yes...it works fine... orange/red balanced with deep red, you want during flowering and 2700k was preferred in the Cfl world and fluoro world because it kind of balances all of those while being weighted towards none. HPS is 2200K.

Many of the best efficient white led's are seldomly 2700k due to the manufacturing process[lower efficiency so far] or availability. You will find some flowering with everything from 3000K to yes even 6500k, but probably supplemented with some red, like Apache Tech for example or the RW series from Area51.

Some are running just 3K and 3500k alone in both veg and flower, no change. Some add a little blue in veg and little red in flower.

We are all on the edge of the frontier, still experimenting with what works. There have been some good convo's around here about what spectrum is preferred.

90% of what I described is ballpark. 10% falls to the radicals and run whatever they want :peace:

depends on a number of factors like what area are you trying to cover etc. I ran 600 watts of cheapo leds in 1 sqm and did nice. You could use less and do better as I am a pretty poor grower

yes im looking at using a 600w hps with 4 x 100w warm white leds (going to have a go at doing a diy on the leds, a driver, led an heatsink an fan) this will be in a 2.4 tent.

Ballist which colour did you use on the leds ?

The amount you will need can be drastically different depending on the efficiency and spectrum of the LED. Top bin Cree COBs could be half as much as low quality Chinese budget panels

What the captain said is very true but so long as energy usage isn't the primary goal it shouldn't be a problem.
I ran about 250 watts of 3000k warm white plus another 250 watts of vanq continuous spectrum purple with a few additional philips 800 lumen house hold leds.
I had to close the grow last October when they all finished. I will be starting back up in a few weeks
