ive got 3 plants that where germed 2 weeks ago. they where out doors but were not growing well at all so i brought them in and put them under a 42 watt cool white cfl. they are only about 2 inches tall and are just now showing the 3rd level of spiked leaves.
just yestuday after being under the light for 4 days now the leafs started curling and turning a lightish green color. the new growth comin up is a nice dark green. the light is about 5 inches away. i am growing in soil. watering with ph'ed water no nutes yet.
it started with the tallest plant and now all are doing it. any idea whats going on

I'm not a professional,,but I did read that seedlings are most vulnerable in there first week,,if I had to guess I'd say they are to close to there light source

Could be the heat. Make sure you have an oscillating fan on it, aimed at the light source. I read where you are in soil with no nutes. What kind of soil? Heavy in ferts or just plain soil? Ferts could be too strong for a seedling. Good luck.

any idea whats going on

Do you have any drainage holes in those cups? If not it's probably watering problems and you really shouldn't have plants in see through containers - the light will damage the delicate roots.

I didn't have to look at your pictures to have a good idea. When plants are outside, even for just 2 weeks, getting that bright light, they grow expecting that bright light. When you give them 42w of CFL, they think it's moonlight. :blsmoke:

HTH

i havent given any nutes just yet still a little young. i was starting to think it had to do with the cups. i had a feeling it wouldev messed up some thing. ive transplanted n to fresh soil and bigger pots. have pics up saturday. but as for the lights i have a 150w= cfl and a 42w= 1 is daylight and the other is cool white. just like any other fluro grow. i do have a fan from a airhockey table blowing on the plants to get beefer stalk. it stays in the low 80's and the fan goes off 30 minutes after the lights. i am about to add mylar to the inside walls and fasion up some kind of reflector. sunday i do plan on picking up 3 more big cfls or i might just grab a 150w hps flood light. never noe. would it be to hot?. i have been water with water from my koi pond 1ce a day right before lights go back on. right now i have it on about 22on and 2 off.lmk id love coments and some pointers thax
