Last Seed Depot order now apears fishy.

I used to get beans from TSD last year before the shitstorm and they closed down.
In July I ordered Madd Farmer, Strawberry Frost beans and they got green-taped.
When I contacted for replacement they were out of stock, so rather than substitute for another bean of similar value, I opted for patience.
I checked the site regularly and sure enough, they remained out of stock every week I checked.
I contacted them in December and said I would take another strain after five months had elapsed and the Frost beans still hadn't arrived.

I got an e-mail from them saying it was back in stock and they sent the beans and I had them in 10 days. I checked the site during the mailing period and sure enough, they were in stock.
I planted six and got five up and going, all of which are approximately 3-weeks in veg. (some germed beans emerged days before others)
Out of the five in veg, I have three totally different plants.

I'm going to line them up and post some picks tomorrow.

Funny thing is...I received those beans about a week before the site went dead.
What the hell did they send me?

I have a Nigerian Biker freebie that came with the order also. I don't trust that either. Too bad, I'm sure if it was legit Karma gear, I would have enjoyed it

i have some madd farmer beans and the packaging looks nothing like what you have there for sure.. i'm pretty sure mine are the match book type of packaging, i'd have to look to be 100% sure, but i know for a fact that mine don't look like they were run off a xerox machine like what you got there..

i know it's been said that a certain nameless breeder had thought that jd had been sending out fake beans towards the end, but i'm not about to put them under blast, they're around here, if they want to chime in, i'm sure they will..

quick question, if you took that madd farmer label off the pack o beans, and folded it in half, would it be about the size of a match book? you know the kind like the cali connection uses for their gear??

It is exactly the size of an old-school matchbook if I folded it in half.

I did request stealth and they could have pulled off the label. I got my last Pyramid order stealth and it just had a piece of the breeders card cut out with the strain name thrown in the clear bag with the beans.

It's just that I have three types of leaves and structure to them. One of them looks like this Bubblegum I grew once. Big fat leaves, tight internode spacing, fat little thing at two weeks. Deffinetly an indica.
I really wanted to try the Nigerian Biker x 501st OG freebie.
I think I'll drop them anyway. They would gain nothing by swapping a freebie, so those are probably legit.

Did you say you picked up the strawberry frost? Did you grow them out? Do you have any pics or any feedback as to the structure and growth patterns?

you could check the zon as that's where i got mine from..

If it's what I think, it should be a cross from Karma, a variation of the biker Kush x 501OG.
It could be quite dank.

Why would they bother shipping any beans if they were closing in days? I assume they can't be contacted, so what would be the point shipping anything? To avoid a refund? [searching for motive]

idk that everyone involved was privy to the info that TSD was about to fall. i cant imagine TSD was just JB in his office putting beans in envelopes and sending them out. my guess is that someone was still business as usual up until about the last few hours. I'm sure everyone at TSD knew before the rest of us but i bet not by much.

I have been leaning the same way.
I want to believe they sent what the package says.
They really have no motive to send another product.
They already got my money five months ago. I was only waiting for re-stock to get the replacements.
I prolonged my wait by not wanting a different bean of equal value.

The timing was so strange, I feel I received one of the last orders they sent, in the last few days. All the buzz online with the forum shutting down also, stirred my suspicions and now the six plants I have three weeks in veg are showing a lot of variation.
I'll ride it out, sort out the males and see what happens.

I ordered a couple of months ago and I also got the NBx501OG and they came the same way but the bag was rolled up. I ordered pretty much all e$co seeds and they came in the breeders sealed packages. I hope they are all legit.

OK guys check this out for what it's worth... In the final days of TSD here is what happened to me. (good and bad)

I ordered some cannaventure cookie wreck. They came in the CV container sealed. I also got a pack of Instant Karma x Cheech Wizard packed the exact same way as your Nigerian Biker cross. Then the site went down THE FIRST TIME... When the forum came back up I questioned the packing on my Instant K cross. A member named "snodome" said he personally made them and vouched for the packing (believe he worked for TSD??)...Anyway others said this fella was legit etc as well. I have 2 of them 3 weeks into flower and they look GREAT.... So i'm thinking you're good on those. (the good)

BUT when the site went back up there was a thread on the bodhi page labeled "surprise black triangle restock". Now I missed it the first time and the thread was dead for a long time. I logged on early in the AM and noticed "The seed depot office girl" had just written in this long dead thread. So I clicked it. In it she claimed that 5 packs of black triangle were never paid for and were up for grabs. Well I think you know what I did. I ordered 3 packs of them promptly (god I'm a fucking SUCKER!) The NEXT DAY the site went down for good and never came back. I can only wonder how many other poor saps got excited and sent in money for them. Oh guess who never got his black triangle? (the bad)
