Sweet Apollo package, did you find that you needed anything else to go with the light system, or was it pretty much ready out of the box? How's the damage to your electric bill compared to your old cfl setup?
 
What I noticed when I made the switch to a 600 from CFLs is about 20 - 30 bucks but that was to HPS during the switch to 12/12 I'll let you know how it goes this time. I'm doing 20/4 with a MH I don't anticipate it being too bad...

Only thing I needed was tent, ducting, and inline fan. Everything else came with it. Like bumps said, bill only went up 30 bucks...and that's after I've been using my AC tons more because of this heat wave that has hit the south...which I would be doing without plants anyway hehe.
 
I'm kinda afraid of my bill because we can't put central air in my place because of city coding and shit and were running 3 A/C units pretty much all the time. Those things shit on electricity bills!

Yea, I don't have central air either :(. Feel like I'm in central america again...have a damn ac unit that's built into the wall....and fans strategically placed through out the apartment lol.
 
Good to hear its only a lil extra cash to run. I run my cfl's 24-7, since I'm doing a run of auto's, and I wanted them to finish as fast as possible. But when I do go eventually to HPS/MH, of course it'll be only 12/12 so that should offset the cost a lil. I'll keep my cfl's in a veg chamber similar to LadyJ. And maybe run some autos in there too for fun :-o

How many true wAtts of cfls are using? My point is if you are running 250 watts of cfl it would be the same cost as 250 watts hps.

What he said...I was running 380w of CFL so my bill wasn't much different compared to the 400w....think the only reason my bill went up to $30 is cuz of how much I had to run the AC at full blast.

About 240, and you're right, but I think I would go at least 400w hps like LadyJ which is why I was asking about her bill specifically! When I started out, I was eager and impatient, and I read magazines/forums for about a week and then went out and bought all kinds of crap. This is how I learn.... the hard way lol
 
That's how I roll also my brother! I think there is a certain personality type that comes with doing what we do so we tend to make the same mistakes.

lmao same...going to have to sell my lotus bulbs. Would have saved much more money if I had just went HID in the first place.
