check out the tweaked out ladies. i think they like the nettle tea and aloe/silica foliars. Has anyone ever had or seen leaves "praying" like the con cheese in pic #1 and 2?? they are pretty much vertical.

fresh set of clones using cc method. 2oz fresh aloe, 2tbsp ful-power, 1 tsp pro-tekt. soak medium a few hours as well as cuts then combine. slap a misted dome on the tray and wait. also trying to root a six pack of strawberry cough right into pro-mix with the same method

"Has anyone seen leaves praying.."

Welcome to the world of herbal/aloe foilar feeding!

I just sprayed my ladies down with an almost identical spray (nettle, horsetail, aloe)
and they look incredibly happy.

Looking good KK.

snowboarder: i havent ran the cherry pie yet. the plan is to run them in the hoophouse/light dep. my neighbor picked them up @ a collective here in the bay he has had good luck with. i forget which one.

Oriah: i use the big boy carbon/sediment filter. that puts out about 6 gallons of fresh per minute. my hose bibs are hard piped in after the filter which i use to hand and spot water everything in/out. and for the large outdoor beds i have a manifold with ball valves after the filter. these ball valves control 1" poly that brings water to the pots and reduces down to 1/2" drip line rated @ .6gph.

man you got some religious plants!!! the only times I have ever gotten praying leaves like that was with coconut h2o 1:15 dilution...barley and aloe get my ladies praying, but coconut has them at full attention lol.

you gotta think there is some negative effect on photosynthesis though...those vertical leaves don't catch too much light. i was in a conversation with some fellow enzyme tea users about it, and nobody really came to a conclusion as to why the leaves would do that....praying makes sense, but praying to the point of being unable to capture much light seems disadvantageous. leaf turgor pressure was being discussed...but nothing much came of it. regardless, it is a strange phenomenon - botanically speaking at least. anyone with a background in botany know why this would happen?

either way, it looks awesome.

question - when did the leaves raise to that position? and what time in the cycle did you apply the tea? I always find that my ladies will perk up during the dark period...at lights-on I am always shocked by the praying.

everything is looking great! good call on the water filters for outdoors...i need to work on getting my hoses filtered for my veggies this year...tap water here is baddd. i posted my tap h2o test results in the soil food web or TLO thread a while back...don't remember which, but its gnarly. perchlorate anyone????? yum. radon? count me in...

it was already kinda doing that from the aloe. but it was the soil drench with nettles that did it. i believe i watered in the late morning/early afternoon. and when i came back out a few hours later thats what i saw. foliared seedlings with aloe and silica and they are praying too

edit: as for photosynthesis i dunno. often times i prune all of those leaves anyways so who knows. seems enough of them are still catching light

cookie update: just about six weeks into flower

actually its only 5 weeks into flower. they seem to be getting thick for only 5 weeks. something to be said about unlimited room for your roots to grow in. well maybe not unlimited but 200+ gallons is a lot of root potential for such a short veg. i love growing in beds. so much easier than pots!

Do your flowers test at off the wall percentages kk?

you sure put a lot of time and effort into the details of specific needs vs. someone who uses their hose to water and that's it...

the only time i have seen my flowers tested is when i vend to Harborside. I had some electric diesel haze in the high 20's a few years back

I just saw your Con Cheese... mine is pretty much doing the same thing. Certainly says a lot for the genetics that go through Harborside.... assuming you got the cut there, of course.

sub'd.

and they are a great addition to an IPM regime! funny..i wonder how many of us are cultivating these plants :)

i have a few lemon balm and tulsi starts under CFLs at the moment...going to harden them off soon and plant in my outdoor beds.

kk you got some great resources in your backyard! aloe too...bastard! although there is no way those plants will support the size of that garden LOL. the smell of soaking teas is usually nice..sometimes barley tea can get funky around 48hrs if you're not bubbling it...smells like feet lol.

everything looking nice as usual...

the 15 gallon pot should support all my cloning and foliar for indoor. i ordered that 200x powder for indoor/outdoor irrigation and outdoor foliar. but yeah i hear ya. just to water the indoor beds takes 160 gallons! ive got two, fresh, 1 galllon starts that i separated from that 15. guess we will find out how fast i can propagate more!

looking fwd to seeing what the lemon balm has to offer. im planning my vegetable beds now. we'll see what other cool plants i can put in there.

thank for stopping in...
