Kitty Weed

I've had an unknown plant growing in a pot in a window with a store bought Norfolk Island Pine for about a month now. I decided to let it grow out and couldn't figure out what it was for the life of me, I thought it was mint but the smell was too different.. after seeing the picture in asdf1's link I now know its catnip and its stinky as fuck. I've topped half of her growth and FIM'ed almost the other half and will try LSTing a bit as well as leaving one for a "control". I'll get some pics up and post the results whenever it's done.

Every time I grow catnip indoors (from seed) it gets mites. Like clockwork. I don't like mites. Because of this, I have been fearful of putting it in my room. Am I being paranoid?

I figure the nip gets mites because I take no real measures to prevent them. I certainly don't change clothes and wash up before entering my home. Or it could just be the open window it sits next to.

wow good to know... thats weird, from seed even?? outdoor seeds? or bought ones?

ive noticed different kinds of kitty weeds too. one catnip type kinda grows wild around here in MI. i noticed my neighbor has a patch in her front yard just recently... its still there even in the cold. i was like wow. thats a hardy one. i get up to it, and it has the shape of like an indica weed plant would for the leaf and bud arrangement. at least compared to the kind that grew wild at my parents house about 5 miles away. their is super super stinky and it grows much taller and fragile.

kinda cool how its like indica and sativas if it were weed. if im making any sense here. :P

Store seeds. In a packet.

Edit: yeah, it's funny. All my houseplants are mite resistant/undesirable but the catnip and kitty grass (barley type). I use them as a canary in a coal mine. I check them every other day. Just sort of came to the conclusion that mites like nip too.
