I went to a German school on the East Coast back when NATO mattered and the hundreds of visiting Germans needed to stay in the system with continuity when their 3 or 5-year stateside tour was done and they went back to the Federal Republic.
Our math teacher for grades 10 through 13 was like five four and had a weird-proportioned head and a Nimitz-class combover. His name transliterated as Foldheinie (which have my dad the PTA silverback a reliable chuckle) or, when beer andor weed was involved, AssFault.
But five even ended with the 9th-graders ... must have been the Wunderbrot in the diet.

Sorry for the late post, my wife walked by with some very inappropriate attire on so I had to discuss it with her in private.
No clue on what side. I can't speak a bit of German and I didn't connect much with my grandparents before they passed. My great grandfather was a German immigrant that settled in Ohio from what I am told. My grandfather came to Michigan. He spoke English but was hard to understand, always arguing with my grandmother, and very racist lol. That's what I remember about him. Bipolar is pretty common in our family, I think it is the old German berserker coming out of us. I can't really ask my father much about our history, he has severe dementia, most of the time he doesn't remember me. One of these days I am going to pay for an ancestry test and get some more info.
My ancestry has always interested me. I study a lot of German history and I have seen about every documentary youtube has to offer lol. I watch tons of medieval stuff also, check out 'Kings and Generals' on youtube, they have thousands of years worth of battle statistics and do a lot of documentaries on great leaders.
