certainly gets a bit rich when you get postage added, but those units look pretty nice.
so if you break it down its still nearly $90USD each unit. if you build your own its obviously going to be cheaper. but still thats a ton cheaper then any of the already prebuilt cobs i've seen

Yes it is cheaper than most of the pre built cobs I have seen as well. I just don't like the way they advertise, if it is not $40 then why advertise it as such why not advertise it as $65 plus shipping that would be more honest. At the end of the day it gives growers another choice so that outweighs the negative for me.

you should let Jerry know how you feel. That is what changes things. I guess I am fortunate to fine honest business folks on Alibaba to make led flexible strips and pcb boards. I see plenty of folks advertising cob grow lights if that is what you are looking for, cheaper than US companies. Recession in China and Europe so now is a good time to negotiate good prices. My contacts contact me weekly for more production, but I am just a poor guy from a poor family.

Yeah I agree, but it's China and alibaba, never in my life have I seen them actually advertise the correct price on anything and I've been dealing with online trading and Chinese market for over a decade lol.(handy tip, negotiating is key lol) I guess I'm just numb to it and automatically assume it will be higher then advertised. It's also getting that way with ebay and dodgy sellers putting cheaper items in a drop down box, and then it shows in searches as like $2 so it shows as lowest price but the actual item in a drop down box is $200 lol.

At $175 they are too expensive for a single COB there are cheaper options out there I know that Timber grow lights do 2 Cree cxb3590 cobs in a frame for $269.

Some of one guys just don't get it shipping from china isn't cheap. If you want lower shrpping well are you prepared to wait 30-45 days for your product. Come on ot's being shipped DHL by air. Have you ever overnight with the Post Office? It's way more expensive than you are complaining about and I'd use bank transfer if you are ordering more than $500 from my many dealings with Jerry
and you're complaining about shipping from Jerry that's not a good deal Jerry sells CXB3590 for $31 do the math

i wouldnt say that. i dont quite get the concept of mixing, both work fine on their own
they are midway between the 1212 and 1818 in efficiency. i think once youre all in on a 50V setup with heatsinks and drivers saving $5 a chip on an 1812 vs an 1818 doesnt make much sense to lose 3-4% efficiency

I am not complaining about the shipping what I am complaining about is advertising a product for $40 when the real cost was $55 - $65. I think you missed the point I was trying to make I expect shipping but I did not expect the product itself to be more than $40 If you show a photo of a product then that is what I expect the product to be at the price advertised. I don't think that is unreasonable, do you? Most people would agree the advertisement is misleading.

You obviously have no clue how ordering works on Alibaba. You know there's a link the says get latest price so how can it be false or misleading when you have to get the price by getting a quote? And have you bought ever anything from him?

You obviously feel you need to come to the defense of Jerry just because you have a purchase history with him. In your first post you claim I complained about shipping which I did not. Now you are trying to defend misleading advertising practice, as I said most people would say that it is misleading advertising because if you advertise a product for a price then that should be the price. Why advertise at $40 why not $55 or $65 what is actually $40 is it the heat sink and the cob or driver and the cob it is very confusing and to advertise with a picture of a complete COB setup is misleading. The quote option could be for shipping it does not necessarily imply quote on the price of the goods. I respect your knowledge and contribution to the community but you are wrong in this instance and most people would agree with me that this is misleading advertising. If that is what is to be expected on Alibaba then so be it but it does not change the fact that it is misleading. I think you will find there are a lot of sellers on Alibaba that advertise the correct price of their products.

It is public knowledge of course and I'm not giving you a hard time but when you put the prices after publicly like that I wish told Jerry got in trouble for the selling things a little cheap then he should have been so keep that in mind you don't want a good thing to go bad

I have no problem with the price quoted $55 - $65 it is cheaper than any other option I can find but that is not the point we are discussing, we are talking about misleading advertising. As I said why advertise at $40 why not the real price of $55 - $65?

I did the math as you can see from my posts before. I showed you that RapidLED came out to 10$ price difference but came with "C" version instead of D, and a power supply to run them at 75w each not 50w for a comparative order. Perhaps you should look at the math and see whats really the better deal. I included all shipping and taxes in my Rapidled price, the quote for the kingbrite didn't include any taxes so that price will increase.
