I love your use of personal attack instead of attacking the issue.

However, here's the point.

Drugs, like weed and the like, arent that harmful. Wouldnt phase me if they legalized it or not.

But the day they legalize meth, heroin, etc... will be the worst day ever. You have no idea what it is like to have your life ripped apart by your own family, as they steal from, fight, hurt, neglect, every one in their path. Top it off, that was my mother. So you have no clue what you are talking about
i dont mean you any disrespect what so ever,

but just because it's legal doesnt mean people would try it... would you? i wouldnt. (meth for example)

but i think everyone should have the right to do what they want, people (at least in every case i've heard) start on these drugs because of something wrong in there life, family problems, financial problems, etc. and at that point, (where they want to get into meth, or heroin, or crack, or things of the sort) they would try it if it was legal or not, right?

in certain cases, the fact that its legal may be unappealing to people, and they won't try it (because some people like the rush of doing something illegal, right?)

by the way, sorry if this is backtracking a bit in your argument.

EDIT/ADD: people make they're own choices! its not up to the government for that.... its about the way they were raised, the way they choose to live their life, etc. that one would consider trying such a hard drug. the government arent our parents, they shouldnt be able to tell us what WE have to do. we are people just like them, but they've built such a reputation, that we are born into this world of thinking whatever they say, goes....

i could get some crazy drugs legally, but i dont want to, cause i know what they do.

True, my mom started doing meth cause she was overwhelmed by kids and by both her parents and brother dying. Im just saying, lots of proponents of legalizing drugs say that we should give them out at reduced prices to drug addicts to help them out... Not a good idea. I know they would try it either way, but if we legalize it, there are no consequences for fucking up, for being a drugged out fiend, etc..

you know what, that's a very good point! in that case you're definatley right, its so messed up now that it would be hard to fix if it was all legal.. yeah i agree that in most cases of being an addict, there should be consequences, and at this point it takes the power of the government to do it.. (unfortunately)

yeah, im not one for intruding on personal freedoms, but if we give drug addicts free reign, they will crash and burn and take everyone with them if they dont have consequences for bad actions...

like, its a persons choice whether or not to get drunk, but the moment they drink and drive they should be punished... same goes for drug addicts... they're free to buy the drugs, but the moment they get high and destructive, as they always do, they should be punished or at least helped to get clean

right, and that's what gets most people mixed up, because everyone should have freedom, yet nobody should do those drugs, .... so then why not make them illegal? but then it goes back to just having the idea of freedom again, haha if you believe in freedom, you probably believe in not having a govt at all, or having them for certain things that are for the better (protection, and having police to keep us safe etc) so that's why its so hard to just say "oh yeah all drugs should be legal" because we know either way we'll never have complete freedom, so there's no point in the govt legalising because it creates more work for them... as you said picking people up when they go down.

yes i believe in freedom, but the legalisation of any drug is unrealistic. (and again, that would be a very small percentage og what else they would have to do for us to be 'free')

So you are saying if a person goes through the same things your mom did, they will become a drug fiend?

And thats what welfare is all about

Im saying that was her personal trigger. She has always had an addictive personality, and had experiemented with drugs before, all that happened and she got into meth. She, however, got herself clean. Never touched it again.

Welfare? how cliche

why is weed a fundamental right, its illegal in most states and most countrys, never seen a case brought before the court of human rights and won, you say mushrooms are safe, that really depends on how many you take, where i live it is illegal to process mushrooms ie drying them
most things will kill you if you have to much
cannabis is one of the safest drugs known to man because its impossible to die from a overdose.it is actually a very safe "drug" and can be used in very healthy ways.

and i dont know if many ppl have died from magic mushroom overdose, probably very few.

funny, she never had welfare while she was on meth, but when she was working her ass off after she was clean, working hard, all the time, she still needed wic and food stamps... the moment that she could have stopped she did...
