Just mold me- lost some yield

I am about ready to chop since my bunions are throbbing and that always means its about time. I chopped 1 of 6 plants and then found another one with the dreaded MOLD!

I am finally seeing ambers so maybe another week for the big chopping fest.

I caught it fairly early but as you can see it took out some nice bud. So I searched all plants and it was restricted to this one that was in the corner. I had blocked off those vents but only to the one plant.

Live and learn- when the buds get fat they get susceptable to mold if you dont have proper venting. thats what I think.

What are you growing in? And what's the RH and airflow like?

I am growing in roots organics. I have been feeding no nutes, just water for about 3 weeks. The RH runs 35 to 45 percent.

The only air flow is that venting. I have fans but have not been using them so its my own blessed fault

Crank up the airflow. That's probably the #1 cause. You can try a H2O2 wash if you want.

I will check again but I did not lose all that much. I saved some of the bud that had not molded yet......

I will definitely get some more air moving and keep that wash in mind. I never heard of that but Ive not had mold before.
I sure dont want it to spread

Well those spores are probably everywhere already.

Yeah- I can chop now if need be but I have had this before but I never saw it before I chopped and did not lose much..............

Would you chop it and disinfect? It is close enough that I could do it in now....... that plant I just cut is killer smoke

yo I dare those spores to take my crop (crap). I see the roots (mycelium) but not spores ......they came from somewhere allright.....

I had it in my last grow (same strain) at about this same time and like now it was only in a couple fat buds..... but I did not notice until I chopped and never really considered it a big threat. I have not dealt with it before. I dont fear it just yet but you have got my attention on it. I will let you know how it goes

PS- the plant appears to fight the mold with increased resin production- I wish I could show it in a magnified pic. I think it is but rot and I think I caught it before it shot out spores. I could be wrong (as usual) but I am gonna shoot craps on this one and just wait a couple more days on it

I had this happen when I grew some fat colas last year. I recommend taking the big colas apart from the bottom up, looking for mold with a magnifying glass or scope, then when you hit it, trash the rest of the cola. I lost about 1/2 that plant, but what I kept was mold free. I wouldn't bother doing a bud wash-that will just spread the botrytis around and make it harder to locate. Sometimes you can find where it started on the cola, it usually takes hold where the plant was damaged. Good luck!

@Rurumo - yo, I found where it started and it is just the 1 plant. I am about to chop it and it still leaves me 4 plants. it is a valuable lesson learned. I lost a lot of the plant anyway and like you say, it took the best tops
