Or blame the house of representatives for blocking him more than they have blocked any president in history, and being the least productive house in the history of our country... but that might require a little too much logic. We should all continue on believing the president has dictatorial level power and can just make unilateral changes to make everything he wants to happen miraculously happen, right???
He didnt make conditional promises when he was running for president and the first 2 years he was in office the Democrats controlled congress.

He was a failure and you can come up with any excuse you want.

Some battles you win, some battles you lose. He was a disappointment, but he tried. Yes he was somewhat of a failure, but not for lack of competence or honesty. Many would consider healthcare and gay marriage bigger wins than the war was a loss. Not to mention legalization of our sacred plant now beginning to sweep the nation.

He was a failure due to lack of competency. He put a lot of political shills in military positions and disregarded the generals recommendationas and advice.

Obama could have legalized pot on day 1. Why are you so happy to get incremental freedom when it shouldnt be the governments job to decide what you put in your body anyway.

I would like you to provide me with a legal precedent for a president doing something such as this. Otherwise it is just proof of your ignorance to the realities of politics.
Fine, I mispoke. He could have had it re-scheduled on day one and moved for congress to legalize it.

He didnt do shit.... And it is 7 years later. His justice department is still fighting the states tooth and nail.

But hey, since the states are forcing the issue we should give him credit? Seriously?

Except that the president has exactly zero control over drug scheduling. That process, in its entirety, is under the jurisdiction of the DEA. Ignorance confirmed.

Who does the DEA answer to? Oh yeah, that's right.. the Executive branch. Are you trying to be obtuse?

Lets try this a different way. Why dont you post the video of Obama saying he wanted marijuana legalized but it is the evil Republicans and the DEA that is stopping him. That should be easy right? Unless..... It never happened. Obama has not done shit to help with the legalization issue. Trying to give him credit for it is stupid.

The DEA has a long history of refusing to reschedule marijuana. But sure, Obama could just change things with a wink and a nod, right? One phone call and all's solved? Isn't that how politics works?

So it is now your contention that Obama was not only incompetent at foreign relations he was incompetent with the drug law?

HE NEVER SAID HE WANTED LEGALIZATION!!! FFS, there are plenty of things you can defend him on but this sure as shit isnt one of them.

And I never said that he did want legalization. You said he could have done it day 1, I explained why he couldn't have. I only gave him credit for what he did do, which was to allow legalization to begin and progress without blocking in the way most republicans would have. The fact that he did that without personally wanting it legalized is a credit to his ability to respond to the will of the people.

Oh please. Logic? Obama has been a foreign policy disaster and promises kept were part of the problem.
