Very nice outcome, good to see a decent yield with this amount of lights ill be using 2 6400k 125w cfl's for mine in about the same grow space as yours.

thanks guys, im excited to be at this stage. I am mentally rebuilding my cabinet in my head while i wait for this bud to dry. I still have not given up on the temperature problem, I just tolerated it for this grow. Once i take the remaining buds, I will empty the res and clean up the pellets and ready them for the next grow. I was going to dry my buds in the cabinet but i found an alternative so i will be readying the cabinet for the next grow as soon as i fix a few things and switch out lights and shit like that.

Im hanging them in the only stealth way i could think of. A lamp shade. I threw a clean pair of shorts over the whole thing and i remove the shorts several times a day to release moisture. (just in case)

I currently have two buds drying, i cut another one today. I am slowly making my way through harvest on a bud by bud basis.

Dam I missed another cab grow this is BS. Nice job JP that looks like some fine smoke u got. When you are ready to start the next one hit me up. For one I don't want to miss it again two I have a few ideas to keep ur cab cooler. Don't know if it works on all cabs but I lowered my temps by 10 deg at it's hottest points. From 93 at hottest to 83. So hurry I'm ready for your next grow now. J/K

I just want to drop in and say wow! I've learned so many things reading through this journal, I think it has given me the inspiration to make my ownl!! I ordered 10 regular short riders a couple months ago barely knowing how to germinate a seed lol.. I can say that I still have a long way to go but have a really good idea as what to do, thanks to journals like this! Thanks for the great info and your girl is lookin amazing, keep up the good work!

I did have one question for you or anyone else, how important is it to put up the ir blocker because my light setup is very similar to yours and I'm wanting this to be as stealth as possible. I started the first two outdoors with no intentions of starting indoor but then I got high and came up with some great ideas got two more going and then found this forum and realized i didn't know shit lol.. Then today I learned a lot from reading through this journal and realized the autoflowers "if they are true auto flowers" only have a certain amount of time to live.. Honestly I have a lot of question so for now I'll just ask do you guys think it would be worth squeezing the four plants into the 2x2x4 cab until I can tell male from female? The lights as of now are 4 29w 5500k and 1 42watt 2700k so around 160 watts total for now. I forgot to add 2 have been in there for a little over a week now nice and healthy, I can say I feel your pain fighting the temps but I wont get into that right now lol..

thanks a bunch, glad my thread helped you out some. as for the stealth end of things, You could use car windshield reflectors, its way cheaper than the ir blocker stuff. Still light proofs the cabinet. Luckily the short riders do not smell like cannabis. High temps plagued me as you know. I'm going to try a passive intake for the next round of tests before i germinate my blue mystic autoflowers.

if you haven't started a thread, start one and i will follow it and offer any advice i may have.

Yea I actually came up with the window reflector idea when I first started to put together the box. Then came on here and realized, I wasn't the only stoner with that idea lol.. I just didn't know if the Ir blocker under the reflector material would be necessary..

Oh and as for the passive intake, I can already tell you it works!! Its really wierd though, I was playing with the directon of my fan and it literally dropped 6 degrees with the door shut from just the direction of the fan, "mounted on the top of the cab blowing directly down at the plants/intake hole." Which is weird because I would figure this to be the least effective way.. I was getting up to 90+ aswell when the door was shut just from the fan being angled but now its holding strong at 84-85 if its 79-80degrees in the room. I'm gonna get my journal together and I'll be able to explain a little better but the point is, it worked! And I just realized this last night because I moved the fan and the temp skyrocketed then I was sitting there like wtf and realized what I did and sure enough, huge drop it temp! Hope this helps, I've been screwing with moving/changing lights for the last week. Kind of reminds me of when you started this grow lol.. Oh btw I'm only using 2 120mm 80cfm comp. fans for exhaust and one hole for the passive intake thats double the size of the exhaust hole and a 6" ocillating fan.

I've used both car reflectors and ir blocking material. To me the car shades were easier to install and they both light proof the cabinets.

On to the temps

That's great news to hear you got your temp that stable. I only cut maybe a 3 inch hole for the pc fan, i think i will remove the current fan and double the size to six inch. it would fit the fan better anyways if it doesn't work passive.

I have high hope since you, CD and Sicc have got your temps under control, that i will be able to also. thanks so much for the info, I never tire of reading about cooling boxes.

With the new smaller light setup i wired from a vanity bar and a lamp cord i hope by not trapping all that heat like my current reflector does the exhaust system can do its job.

I am going to harvest the remaining buds then i can get to work on temps once again. When i started, someone said " cfl's" don't put out heat" well this journal speaks volumes on how that's not true.

Hey JP whats up! I just had to stop in and have you and smelly try my cooling trick. Try shutting all the circulation fans off. Why mix the hot air rising with the new cool air. You'll still have plenty of circulation with the exhaust fan pulling air through your cab. My temps dropped 10 deg in no time. My plants are lovin it also. My temps never hit over 83 and average 79. That's with 133 watts cfl's and 70 watts hps so 203w with 1 65cfm fan for exhaust. Hope this helps

Humm thats interesting chainseeker I'm gonna give that a try now and I'll let you guys know what happens. Right now its 85 in the cab and 79.5 in the room so I'm fairly happy with this but if I can get it lower why not! Just to clarify, you have one 65cfm fan for exhaust and a passive intake hole thats double the size of the exhaust, with no air circulation from another oscillating fan? Whats the ambient temp in your room just to compare? Oh and how big is your box? edit.. I'm gonna read through your grow a little more tonight but I'll keep you guys posted if that helped at all.

JP I'm glad I could help a little anyway considering the amount of info I learn off your journal!! I would definitely try to cut a nice size hole if you have the room, from what I understand it has to be double the size of the exhaust your using. I'm using two 120mm exhaust fans so I cut about a 5"14" hole in the very bottom of my cab, which had me thinking I don't know how your hydro setup is but you might be able to cut the hole kind of like i did "under that platform that is holding the pots. I'm not even gonna try to explain what I'm talking about, I'll have some pictures up soon to show you what I mean.. Either way give it a try, that was exactly my thought if the passive intake doesnt work I'll throw a nice fan in there to make it work! But so far so good!!

I tried the idea of shutting off all fans except for exhaust. temps have climbed to 86 and im keeping an eye on it just in case this works. both doors are shut. I have harvested all the large buds from the plant. I have a few little buds to trim up but almost done. The main cola was dry enough to go in a jar. I will check it several times a day and keep it in darkness.

Lookin dank! Is the bud smelling any different or smoking any different from the curing yet? I tried the fan but it instantly got hot, my box is a little different though so I think if I took one of the exhaust fans out and used the hole for another intake it might work. I'm curious to see if it works for you.. Its been holding 86 so far and the temp in my room is up to 80 the way I had it so I'm happy for now.
