He had all his own original lines for years that were uniquely his.
I'm pretty sure he lost all his mother plants at a certain point.
Since then he is using his seed stock to dust a shit ton of stuff from hype breeders.
So much cookies stuff getting thrown around seemed to really weaken his gene pool.
I grew his chemo early 2000s and it was insanely good.
Grew another pack 2 summers ago and was pretty disappointed. Didn't even seem to be in the same ballpark at all.
Luckily I have a bunch of his older stock vaulted.
Next generation still doing all his own stuff and has been around just as long as JOTI.
Same with peak seeds.
There isn't a whole lot of Canadian true breeding projects going on most people just pollen chucking in a 5x5 with some cookie/gelato/cake/biscotti cross from some other breeder.
For good breeders in Canada White buffalo comes to mind.
Lucky 13 does some cool stuff.
Anyone else have any suggestions of canadians doing true breeding?
From what I understand alot of the canadian heirloom stuff is lost like the true timewarps/lasqueti stuff from the islands.
I know the real sweet skunk and grapefruit cuts are still around but seem to be pretty fiercely gaurded.
Pretty bleak situation atm in Canada. Early 2000s Canada was a hub for exciting breeding projects. So much rad unique Canadian strains.
A lot of people got out of the game when Marc emery got busted.
Kush came along mid 2000s and it was hard to move or fetch a fair price for anything else after that.
Cookies came along and did the same thing and the cannabis industry still riding the cookies and even kush train to a certain extent.
All this coupled with the fact that cannabis wholesale cost continues to fall means there is not alot of incentive or money to be made digging through a bunch of heirloom/landrace stuff and spending all the time and money to find something special and work it from there.
They would rather get their 800 a pound for their dessert whatever strain that sounds nice.

I avoided any of JOTI's classic strains for that reason....I agree it's unlikely he still has all the original parent stock around to continually restock his entire catalog. Opted for some of his newer crosses that have positive reviews and hoping for the best I guess lol.

Have Black Dolato and Black Berry Breath included in this hunt, along with some other goodies:

New strain announced on Instagram. God's sluricane. Not sure if this is another f1 cross or a new strain from a longer breeding project.

Also 15% from now till Feb 14

Hit the 4 week mark on my black do-lato (2 front) and wedding cake crush (back right).

All 3 are looking nice and frosty so far but the right black do-lato (close up picture) looks like it's going to be a real frosty girl.

I also pollenated both black dolatos with JOTIs Timewarp for growing outdoors summer, alongside a Texada Timewarp.

For outdoors, what time of year should I plant the Texada timewarp? I was thinking late April/early May but haven't ran this outdoors before.

I thought I had read somewhere he was raided and arrested; you can be absolutely sure the cops didn't leave him with his Mothers, or stash of seeds. This was the end of the God Bud that won any awards. Maybe this is why now he's the king of pollen chucker's with all the crosses he does? His God Bud is nowhere near the same as it was back in the late 90s. In fact, he won't even tell people what he did to it to make 'God Bud 2.0'...and he's considered a "breeder"? He has some supporters saying 'all his lines are worked to F2', which is BS if he doesn't have pictures of the F1. This is likely an excuse given for the complete lack of uniformity from his new pollen chucked seeds.

It's pretty sad to see somebody who was so highly respected turn into a joke of a breeder. Within the past few months, he asked people for wide-angle pictures of their grows to use on his website...wouldn't a guy who grows out hundreds of plants have a room of his own to post a picture of? The latest thing he posted on IG was about Slurricane x God Bud (his latest pollen chuck), saying it was the 'tastiest strain from In-House Genetics'. And that's all he is now; a guy who buys American seeds and pollen chucks his (now not so special) God Bud on them. So he's pollinating un-stabilized hybrids with his own unstabilized God Bud, and using American companies names to sell his own seeds.

Proof he's a pollen chucker? Just look at his latest IG post about this cross. Somebody asked him to see a photo of the parent Slurricane being used...he said "soon". Why would he say that? Likely because it's his first time growing it..and even if so, why not post a picture of it? He clearly didn't do a pheno hunt of Slurricane before pollinating it if he doesn't even have a picture of it. In fact, he doesn't have pictures of ANY of his own stuff. There are 2-3 guys on IG who he constantly re-posts their pictures. For an IG account with 8,000+ 'followers', he sure doesn't get many replies to his posts (purchased followers likely). And when reading the replies, there are countless comments about the total lack of uniformity among his plants and his piss poor customer service. One week he's on there saying 'orders are now shipped the next day!', meanwhile the comments say otherwise.

Also to note is that just after he started this new practice of "lets pollinate every American strain we can buy with Blueberry or God Bud", he said there would be no more coupons, and he was raising his prices... And what happens? Less than a month later, its a COUPON code. Then another, then another....pretty much every month, a new coupon. Meaning there is no reason to pay full price at any time; there is a coupon just around the corner. I tend to think his business isn't quite thriving like it used to. Why? Probably because word is getting out that his seeds now are just junk. Obviously he knew his God Bud was no longer good if he felt the need to inject new, untold genetics into it for 2.0.

30 years ago he may have been relevant, before the internet. When you had to pick up the green pamphlet of the Marc Emery seeds at the shops in Vancouver. Now whoever manages his IG page is making him look like a complete clown, with their cascading smiley faces and complete lack of ANY pictures he posts of his own. I mean, isn't IG meant to POST PICTURES?? That guy uses it to find people growing out his untested pollen chucks.

Hit the nail on the head with this one. I honestly wonder if it's even the same dude running things now or if he sold his company to some profiteer who is no more than a glorified pollen chucker?

I'm guessing the latter. The guy must be nearing 60 now (if not older) if he's been doing it for 30+ years. I saw recently that he had posted a certain store to go and buy 'Boogie Brew' products, and said "I grow all my stuff with this line". The 'real Jordan' would never shill a product line like that, let alone give the address of somebody directly connected to them. If the cops want to find who's running JOTI now, all they need to do is go ask the guy who runs the store selling "Boogie Brew". Not very OG-like.

Back to being on IG with no pictures of his own plants, pollinating everything possible with the God Bud....and not even a picture of the male plant used. You'd think after all the pollen chucking projects he could at least show us the male?

Well, I don't mean to jump on the bandwagon of bad posts lately, but I ended up cutting a few lower buds off this morning on some of the stems that had stretched more than expected. I found my first ever nanners on my really frosty black do-lato pheno.

It was right before lights out so I didn't investigate too much but once lights came back on I did a more thorough inspection and noticed nanners on pretty much every lower buds site. Attached a few pics of some of the buds I cut.off with nanners.

Checked the wedding cake crush, also found a nanner on one of the buds.

Pretty disappointed.

That's 2/3 of my JOTI seeds that have hermied so far at day 30 of flower.

My self bred CBD (back right plant of my original pictures) is doing great, no signs of hermied there. The grow has been super smooth so far as well.

Going to just ride this out I think as it's for personal smoke and I'll probably make hash out of it anyways.

Don't think I'm keeping my cuttings though...

Also reading the previous posts about him not having his old stock or having sold the business, kind of jives with my experience.

Tried reaching out to Jordan to get info on the Texada genetics and info on when to plant etc. Can't seem to get any information out of them. Previously grown stuff by ace seeds and they are very passionate about sharing information on the parents, lineage and growing tips.

Thought I had found something special with these seeds. :(

That's a shit load of herm reports in the last year. I will not be popping my pink crush and black garlic crush packs if anyone wants I'll let em go for Hella cheap.
Life's too short to be dicking around with crappy genetics. The chemo he had used to be insane in the early 2000s.
I regrew it again last year and it is absolutely not even close to the same genetics it used to be.
Whole pack was wildly different with various purple, dessert like smells.
Not the rank green funk the chemo used to be. I wouldn't be surprised if he is just selling whatever seeds with fake name on them.

I understand and agree with most of your points, but I don't follow one single breeder that shows pics of the males used in their breeding projects. Not even sure what would be gained by doing so. You can't tell anything about the how a male plant breeds by looking at it - the proof is in the progeny.
