They are not making newsmen like Jim Lehrer anymore, so his passing will leave a hole in American journalism.

Yes, they were both enemies of the "people".I was fortunate to have been around during the time that the McNeil Lehrer News Hour ran on PBS.
They presented the news as it should be told, with insightful commentary & never being afraid to ask hard questions of the people in power.
He was one of a kind & will be missed.

Judy has a pretty good team still. But there is no doubt Jim and Gwen are sorely missed.There goes about the last example of true journalistic integrity that was left on this planet.
There are plenty of good examples out there. True that we lost some good ones recently, though. You need to get out more. The world is different from the one you grew up in in 1950.
