Javadog's Next Adventure

Hello all,

Well, today is the first day of week #6.

I am nowhere near harvesting anything, and do not think
that anything will be done before the end of week #7.

I only got one shot, and this was before the lights went off.

I was rushed a bit, as I took the time to take each plant out
of the tent to look it over. I also took the time to spray down
the tent, the buckets, and the plants with a pyritherin spray.

I sprayed no leaves or even branches above about 6-8". The
point was mainly to spray the surface of the soil.

This was a preventative mainly. I hope to take no other such
steps on this grow. I plan to make a pepper spray for this
need.

I was so disgusted at how out of control the OG Kush had
gotten that I took its tops. I will enjoy watching what is left
mature more when that plant is not making a wreck of the
whole tent.

Here is the LA Confidential. I am very happy with this plant.

The PB BX is doing great. The Headband is doing great.

The Kosher Kush and Skywalker Kush are all over the place,
but at least are still under the fing lights.

Even OG #18 took the beating that I gave it and is proceeding
with tops lying over.

The Jack Herer is a waste of time. If I had not cut it back and
pushed it into the corner, then I'd have killed it outright.

This was Take-Back-The-Tent day.

It went well, and I am pleased with the arrangement now.

I also took some lower growth that had proven unable to make
it to the light, and also repositioned the wires on my stakes
so as to better hold the tops (slid them up the stakes).

Take care all,

JD

Thanks for the good word LK.

I will try to take more dark shots right before the day starts.

I did get these of the new seedlings:
IMG_1978.jpg
They are all proceeding well.

All of the new beans are out of their shells and happy:
IMG_1977.jpg

The row four across is the four TGA varieties, and the four in
a square, in the back, are Purple Wreck and three of the HSO
freebies (Green Crack, Trainwreck, and Bubba Kush)

I also have nine plants now in 5 gallon hempys. This will give
them at least a month to establish themselves.

I am also considering going perpetual 12/12 in the tent, as
I will likely be making room as the early finishers are harvested.

Onward and upward,

JD

Here is a shot of the hempys:
IMG_1979.jpg

They are rather in three groups, the first four,
that have been growing for months, are the
three Cannaventure Mothers Mix females and
a Somango (I want more of this smoke ;0).

The next group are the three smaller plants in
the closet (with the beer cups). These have a
week to two in their pots and are getting established.

The two in the foreground are Girl Scout Cookies
and Thai Lemon Kush.

So, that should be the line-up for the next Crop:
=========================
CVMM #2
CVMM #4
CVMM #5
Somango
Chemdog
Blue Dream
Girl Scout Cookies
Lemon Juice Express
Lemon Thai Kush
=========================

I am close to my carrying capacity here, with my current layout.

I will be able to maintain the mothers and some seedlings/young
plants in the Veg closet, and can fit about 40 seedlings in small pots
under the clone/seedling table.

I am going to need to take several clones of each of these new
breeds. These new clones just may fit into the remaining space.

Take care,

JD

Looking great man. Sucks your JH is a bust, one of the shitty things that happens with seeds sometimes. At least you got plenty of other breeds :)

can i ask a favourand that is if you clone the blue dream can you run one side by side next to the green crack when its time for her to flower...

I am definitely taking a BD clone. This one is "favoured" until
I can confirm that she is spectacular. :0)

I should have no problem doing that LK.

I fully expect GC to be in the crop after next, and if BD is at all
a winner, then a slot for it would be cool.

I am even thinking about maybe, just maybe, flowering just the
four plants that have already gotten so well established and training
the new plants to better occupy their hempys in the meanwhile.

I look at the Chemdog, on the far left, and I see that it's bottom
branches are very dominant and will make a great main-line.
This would give me time to train this, and the other new breeds.

The Lemon Juice Express is already laid over and starting the process
of circling the bucket. (the on with just one beer cup) I did this with
one of the CVMMs and the Somango. The Somango is just finishing
the circuit and the other has done with with two branches crossing
the face at the same time.

The four mature plants are obviously on the right in the photo.
The Somango is nearest the camera. You can see the stem bound
to the rim of the bucket. The trained CVMM is catty corner to the
Somango. It is a BEAST. The other CVMMs are very different.
They were slow growers, but look to make special buds.

Another small novel from Javadog!

Thanks Pap, AJ, I do indeed have more than enough to work with.

I got the hempys all into the Veg closet. I had to move a few plants
to the clone/seedling table to fit them.

...in fact, I have about one square foot, on the clone table, left.

The closet, left and right:

The Clone Table:

I am thinking of getting my seedling tray onto the clone table. I will
think about how I might do this.

Take care,

Agreed. I think that I can take a break. :0)

....still have a rack of new breeds coming from Breeder's Boutique
on the way! They had a special and I got all on sale that I did not
have. This amounted to Blue Pit and Deep Psychosis, then I threw
in Engineer's Dream, at the regular price as a "thank you". Then
they added an amazing freebie cross (Deep Blue x Engineers Dream).

....and I simply *cannot* pop anything new! No! No! No!

Thanks team! :0)

Really only the LA Con and PurpleBerry have enjoyed a
normal existence....even the SKOG Kush and Headband
had had to take a beating. LOL Ah well, if I find balls in
the back when I harvest, from the stress, then I will broadcast
the beans in a wet area and call it a learning experience.

The Kosher Kush looks ridiculous....remember that alien
in the barroom scene in "Star Wars IV"...

hammerhead1.jpg

LOL yeah, that's the one. I had to whack it several times, and
as a result it is all twisted. It does seem to be filling in the pretzel.

:0)

The SWOG Kush and Headband got progressively less supercropping,
and PB-BX and LA Con needed none, but the OG Kush and OG #18
needed a fair deal too.

LOL. Thanks!

It is quite the jungle in there.

What is the consensus about taking growth to improve
light penetration late in the flowering cycle?

What weeks can it be done? I will likely trim some more
lower growth that has just not proven itself sooner and
maybe a few leaves later than that.

I am just musing.

Thanks for the ideas.
