Hydro is great JD. I think you would like it. Hydro requires a bit more work to maintain than the Hempy buckets. maintaining reservoir temperature/pH/water level. lugging water. cleaning the buckets every 10-14 days.

Be aware of the sound those air pumps put out. I find bigger pumps create too much vibration.. using multiple smaller pumps will create less noise that will travel through walls.

I like the idea of tons of bubbles in water vs Ebb and flow personally just because it seems like less work and less chance of errors. Also each having their own reservoir is good because then you can have individual feed schedules rather than force them all to be on the same flowering and feed schedule...

if you are running single strain then the ebb and flow would work great but I think for having lots of different strains you will need different feeds schedules.

Excellent. Real data. Thank you.

I also do not go cheap when it comes to sound.
(I do where I can ;0)

My Panasonic Whisperline was an excellent purchase.

I liked the ability to take the inner bucket, the plant, out,
and the center drain.

I read another real-life experience on RDWC tonight
and that is that running nine different breeds at the same
time will be only harder as what feed makes one breed
happy will bother another breed.

I may want to monocrop when I go RDWC.

Thanks BG.

I am moving back to monoculture myself. SoG, probably gonna bust out the NFT rig but I have a soft spot of Ebb n Flow. 4-week cycles, going to shoot for 4 big trays so that will be 4 of my keepers run at a time, with new ones coming in as other ones finish. Each type has it's own rez, lighting, etc.

Have you had a look at a nice NFT rig before JD? Lowest profile of all the hydro methods too. A guy over here makes these:

Easy to DIY, works like a beast.

Check this out. I tell you NOTHING kicks like NFT if done right. This thread will blow your mind.

I am a DWC guy, and you definitely want to run one strain per rdwc reservoir. One of the reasons I've been more inclined to run hempy buckets lately is that I don't have to fight the temperature so much which takes one more thing to go wrong off the table. I love the explosive growth of DWC, but hempys have a few advantages.

LOL. I want to try it all. :0)

Ham, that dude's rig struck me with how low profile it is.
That is a big win for the NFT team right there.

I was just commenting on the size of BigWorm's table-plants last night.

I will study SD's thread carefully.

Thank you for taking the time and sharing your thoughts. Treasure.

My 2 cents is all the systems can work great. I've been in flood and drain for almost 5 years now and still like it. I do really want to set up an aero nft system like stinkbuds. I keep telling myself thats what I'm doing when I can go to more then one light.

I've been running many different strains on the same reservoir for a few years now. They all get the same feed, and typically they all turn out nice. Occasionally I have a plant that doesn't like the mix quite as much, which just tells me its prolly not gonna be a keeper. I don't have room for finicky plants that can't play well with others :). I've never had a strain that just down right performed like crap either its always just some minor deficiencies

Also I don't care how much shit people talk about dinafem or the dinachem. Mine was a nice plant that I should have kept. The smoke was great and the plant grew well. I also enjoyed dinafem's critical jack, and I'm loving the blue thai. I've never smoked any real chemdog, or any other chem's for that matter so I can't compare it like that but it was still a great plant.

I found the same. Only if you are going to be silly and put a Bubba on the same rez as a Haze then yeah some MINOR issues ensue at times. But for the most part, you can dial a rez in to a pretty wide range of plants. In SoG you just add one clone and see how it handles, no biggie if it doesn't.

I would love to have enough room to run all these different strains on their own res, I know I could Dial each strain better to maximize yield and potential. I'm pretty thankful for what I get to do though. Some day 10 lights, 10 strains :) and a big ass mother room hehe, to live the dream.

Ha. Dinafem is on my shit list right now since my Dinachem bean didn't pop and I was unimpressed by Fruit auto. Mine was a 'tude freebie, so who knows if I have the right folks on the shit list.

The reason why I believe the rdwc should be strain specific is that unlike flood tables, the nutes are constantly available. I've always had issues with sharing the res in DWC in my limited attempts at it.

That makes perfect sense, I could totally see it having an impact.

My Dinachem was also a freebie just as an FYI. So was my blue thai and the recent white widows I ran. I bought the critical jack, and sweet deep grapefruit a couple years ago which were both pretty good. I wouldn't say I really have a huge preference for any one breeder over the other though. I've really enjoyed the Sin City gear I've ran, and its been sweet testing stuff for them. They've had some of the boldest flavors in their genetics and best trich coverage I've grown. I had some decent KC brains plants a few years ago, some nice g-13 labs, female seeds. There are so many good ones, its really hard to judge IMHO based off a few seeds, I've never ran more then one pack of anything from any company. I might not be as picky as some or I might be really lucky :).

I won't totally write off any breeders. I recognize that I am new enough at this that the mistakes and misses could be more about me and not the bean genetics. But it will be a while before I spend any money with them.

Sage n Sour is ready to be planted. Excited about running that one.....

Great posts dudes!

Esp yours TC.

"I don't have room for finicky plants that can't play well with others :)."

I respect this. I take a similar approach in that, in coastal southern Cali,
I do not manage the growing atmosphere, but am happy to just
see how the ladies like it here. I find that where I live is practically
Nirvana for Cannabis. The only fear is water, as this is really a coastal
desert, but I take care of that regularly. :0)

Even bugs are not too big a problem, and I go back and forth from
garden to mancave all the time (actually hate than but can really do
nothing about it). As I think of it, I think that I might have improved
in this regard as I became smarter in the backyard vegetable garden,
bug-wise.

I tasted the Dinachem for the first time...a non-cured but not microwaved
or anything :0)... and it is really very tasty. This is a sure sign that after
the cure it will be a stinker. I am already pleased.

OK, I actually turned here with some news, but got all side tracked
with that excellent thread continuation. I love it when that happens.

I got my BB seeds. They beat Attitude, and I got theirs later too. LOL

They threw in TWO freebies with my two packs.

1:1 and I am onto that baby! (math joke)

I got Deep Purple Querkle and Qrazy Quake both for the TGA they contain. :0)

I just love that Schtinky, and these have Querkle and Qrazy Train.
Q is a famous stinker and QT I once grew. Yummy and sadly missed.
Lost the clones when I flowered the mother IIRC.

Wow. Novel. Off work. Have fun all.

NFT == N<cough sound> Flood Table

Right? Ha ha ha ha! I was actually mentally doing that.

Time for some re-reading.
