Greene, Gaetz to hold Jan. 6 presser after Trump cancels
Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz (Fla.) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.) will be holding a presser on Thursday, the one-year anniversary of the Jan. 6 insurrection, after former President Trump announced that he would be canceling his news conference scheduled for the same day.

The two conservative members of Congress are set to hold “a Republican response on the anniversary of the January 6th protests” on Thursday afternoon, according to a release from Gaetz’s office.

Trump, who was slated to hold a news conference at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla., on Thursday, announced on Tuesday he would be canceling it while throwing criticism at the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot with apparent references to Reps. Liz Cheney (R-Wy.) and Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) and the media.

"In light of the total bias and dishonesty of the January 6th Unselect Committee of Democrats, two failed Republicans, and the Fake News Media, I am canceling the January 6th Press Conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, and instead will discuss many of those important topics at my rally on Saturday, January 15th, in Arizona – It will be a big crowd!” Trump wrote.

It is unclear how many Republican lawmakers will attend Gaetz's and Greene's news conference, as many GOP senators will be going to Georgia to attend the funeral of former Sen. Johnny Isakson’s (R-Ga.), which is set for the same day.

AG Garland Signals DOJ Will hold the "Powerless & Powerful" Accountable for Crimes of January 6

Attorney General Merrick Garland spoke directly and at length about the investigation into the attempted overthrow of our democracy on January 6. Garland pointedly said the Department of Justice will hold accountable all January 6 perpetrators "at any level", whether they were present at the Capitol" on January 6 or not.

AG Garland also invoked the Watergate scandal and said that, on the accountability front, there will not be one set of rules and norms for "the powerful and one for the powerless."

Everything AG Garland said signals that the DOJ will hold the powerful accountable, not just the relatively powerless foot soldiers of the insurrection.

So a couple traitors are going to commemorate the day they tried to undermine our Democracy by spewing diarrhea from their mouths?

I'll say this for the former president; when Hitler took over the Nazi Party it consisted of a mere hundred or so people and had only been around for a few years, the Republican party was huge and influential.

It was either quite an accomplishment or a testament to how unstable American society was. I would love to say that it was just a singular achievement on Trump's part but I think it is the latter. Trump could drop dead tomorrow and this deplorable movement would continue. After a short period of political knife-fighting (reminiscent of The Death of Stalin), somebody like him or worse would emerge from the deep bench of Republican loonies and take his place.

trump used the same tactics as hitler. Instead of making an enemy out of Jewish people trump targeted the brown skinned and Hillary Clinton. People hated Hillary and a good portion of America are closet racists whether they admit it or not. So demonizing the brown skinned Mexicans or Hillary Clinton was an easy winning strategy for a man that easily manipulated the most ignorant in America.

What's makes you just shake your head in disbelief is the fact that while trump was ranting about closing the southern border to keep those brown skins from entering the country he was using the H2 Visa program to bring in brown skinned people to work at his properties.

trump was just an opportunist that used the stupidity of the people that voted for him to get elected.

Biden Slams Trump As 'Defeated Former President' Who Spread Election Lies

President Biden criticized former President Trump as a "defeated former president" who was spreading election lies, and spread doubt even before the 2020 election during his remarks to mark the anniversary of January 6.

Perhaps you are giving the Republican Party a pass? The vast majority of Republicans still support Trump and almost all of the bad things you list as reasons why Trump was a shithead. Take Trump away and those same Republicans will still be here, looking for their next dictator in chief..
