umm as far as the webs forming that is usually not apparent unitl the infestation is massive.. For sure they are mites as the leaf damage for mites and thrips is not the same. I am still convinced they are mits and i hope that you are rid of them completley.. keep your eyes peeled for any type of damage on your other plants.. cheers man!

Good on you for the burning.. I can appreciate that! There is no better cure! haha fuck those mites man.. I hope they are gone for good

remember... no light is supposed to get into your res..

From the first pic of the roots.. it looks like light is leaking from the lid.. tape it up.. it has to be PITCH BLACK inside the res... take the lid and put it over the light.. if you see light through it.. or can see the shape of the light it means light is gettin in ur res... and killin ur roots.

you know i didnt think about it when you first started this thread but home boy is right here. Light in you res can cause so much nasty shit to happen, and it can make root rot go like 10x faster....
i mentioned above that i had a run in with mites before....
some warm neem oil and a light mixture of water and dishsoap be diligent and spray EVERYWHERE on the plant, every day or 2 days.(it will kill the adults but not the eggs so you have to kill all new adults before they lay new egs that will open) Im not sure if its safe to use the neem oil that often though so seek a professionals opinion on that or whatever.
i wouldn't have resorted to burning that clone just yet either.....
maybe you should look into a dwc cloner since you seem to be pretty good with it as a beginner? then you could cut your own clones and never worry about them causing another infestation.

The clone was 35 buckers, and sick as fuck.. what with the root rott that cost me a fortune to fix on my other 5 plants, and the whole mite eggs issue. I've decided on a zero tolerance rule for outside plants that arent proven healthy. so I had to FLAME UP the poor baby Kush!:fire:

I could have probably saved it, but hell with it, I'm lucky enough to be able to buy clones from a med dispensary, but next time I'll know what to do with it. I will check it for signs and unless the roots are as white as my buttocks, tis' not coming into my domecile.

The light you and Blondie see in the res could be the flash. I had to lift the lid to take pictures. However, the lid IS a light grey, which could leak light in at low levels. I plan on getting some foil covered insulation to go around the rez, and I will cover the lid as well, to block and reflect light.

Good tip! I hadnt really considered that as the roots were all fine and lily white before I jabbed the jacked kush clone in the system.

I'm also on the right track with the root rott, things are looking better! I will try to post some pictures today of the roots now, and how the plants look.

i wish i checked back here earlier, yes my plants worked themselves out in a matter of about a week, epsome salt spray about 3 table spoons per gallon of water and a transplant in to a better draining medium(cactus soil) and they have now outgrown my space. the effected leaves did die and fall off but the rest of the plants have done wonderfully.

its a shame about your clone, i'm sorry for your loss

Boy was I fucking wrong about this!

Everything WAS looking better, I had the PH in check, roots looked good, then a day went by and I looked in my res to big giant rust colored blobs on my roots. SHHHIIIIIIIIIIT.

SO, I took the system and douched everything. I used Clearex, h2o2 (store brand though, stupid hydro shop doesnt sell horticultural grade) and soapy water. I took each plant and washed the roots off under tap water, which took a LONG time to get all the shit off of the roots.

Put in my 'subdue' bullshit, added super expensive Hygrozyme, which can go fuck itself because it didnt work for me, and I got everything back together. Then, I put insulation over the entire thing, to keep rez temps lower and keep the lights out.

Rez temps dropped from 68-71 to about 66-70.

All of the above took me about 3 hours to accomplish. In the morning, all looked well. THEN when I came home from work, I saw this:

I'm out of ideas, and have scoured RIU for answers.

Anyone have any ideas to save one or two of these plants?

Everything was CLEAN and it was like the pic shows in about 18 hours.

Is it even worth trying? should I shit can them, soak everything in bleach water and just move on?

I'd appreciate suggestions, even if they are experimental. Hell, I may even take them out of the rockwool and stick them in the fucking ground. I'm out of ideas.

heeeeeellllllllllllllppppppppppp :?

I should have posted it there, oh well, not enough time!

Time is of the essence with this shit, this is major damage city to the max.

I tried to save two of the 5. I trashed the hydroton pebbles and took as much rockwool off of the roots as I possibly could, and washed the shit out of the roots. THEN I took the buck naked plants and threw them into 1/2 water, 1/2 3% HydrogenPeroxide. I left them in that for about 30 minutes while I got everything ready for their new SUPER CLEAN home.

if the pythium (or whatever it was/is) comes back, fuck it, I'm going to just burn my whole house down with me in it.
